I'm the kind of freak that loves the frosted glass look, I liked it ever since we got that fancy little control center in iOS 7. Glassy stuff always looks so clean and friendly to me vs the sharp blocky colours and, like, slight grit I always feel in Windows stuff and older gnome versions. I think I just hate the low contrast grey I see everywhere
But I also think I've been discovering recently I'm a bit of an apple fanboy. I don't like everything they do because apple did it, but I 9 times out of 10 like what apple does. I'm a freak that likes liquid glass hahaha

Yeah kinda! ABDL stuff is kinda the default for me, but I often get into moods and micro obsessions. I also think ABDL is kind of a crutch for me when I'm alone and can't really get sexual attention from others. It's comfy and easy to do on my own.
Recently though I've been watering the plant of my dominant side and it's been so much fun, and it makes me not in the mood to pad up. I think a big part of me WANTS to always be little, I love the idea of that being an all-the-time thing because it kinda plays into the kink in a meta way.

Yeah I try and tell people "it's more of a lifestyle" or similar words to get the point across but I think still most people think like "oh so you're just doing kink stuff all the time" which is definitely not the case. Honestly I set up a save syncing system with Syncthing on all my devices and just have entries for the games via emulators and steam rom manager on my PC and deck. If I ever wanna play something on my TV I just run the Steam in home streaming app on my Apple TV and my save will have already synced to my desktop!

I’ve got one of these too and I use it for emulation way more than my deck!
It’s not one of the android ones, but it feels nice, is cheap, and I can bring it with me everywhere which is crucial.
Only thing is it’s very small and I’ve got big paws for such a lil guy so I can get cramps after playing on it for a long time

Gonna be bringing up some of my (real, actual) bladder symptoms I've been experiencing for the last, like, ten years to my doc at our appointment in a couple weeks.
I haven't brough em up till this point because I've only had a family doctor for a little under a year, and this is kind of embarrassing to bring up. But mostly, internally, I've been conflicted on if I want to bring some stuff up because it's actually a problem, or because it would ALSO service my kink. Like, the fact that there's the potential for a medical action to not just bring me back up to the standard human baseline, but also make me feel good in ways that the doctor doesn't account for makes me feel weird an undeserving.
Medical stuff is weird! I'm mostly healthy enough that any time I probably SHOULD go to the doc about something, I'm like "ehhhh other people probably need it more".
I don't want to entirely get deep on the weird bladder stuff, but it would make sense for me to get a couple blood tests and potentially tested for diabetes, and COULD also result in a prescription for diapers. That last part is really what's halted me this entire time because if the doc found out that this would also make me feel good in ways beyond medical, then he might suspect ulterior motive and be less inclined to help, but it kinda just services two different parts of me.
I've mulled it over for a few months, and I figure that I just need to tell him about these symptoms and get some tests done. So long as I don't lie, or make up symptoms, I'm not breaking any pact of doctor-patient trust I don't think. Some people enjoy being in casts, that doesn't mean they shouldn't get a cast put on for a broken bone.
I dunno, I'm thinking out loud because that's what this place is for. Bottom line is:<li>I have weird bladder symptoms that I shouldn't have for my age</li><li>I'm not pursuing this for kink reasons</li><li>I've done some self-testing with taking breaks from my other meds to make sure this isn't connected to those, but the timeline of this occurring and getting worse over the last ten years wouldn't lead me to believe that anyway</li><li>I have to get up multiple times a night to pee if I'm not protected or<ul><li>I have to drink less water to prevent accidents at night, which I hate doing because I'm a thirsty fella</li></ul></li><li>I should tell my doc about this (and my other) symptoms to get properly tested</li><li>I have the potential of lining up my physical and mental health in one neat scrip</li>
Thankfully this stuff causes me no pain or anything, but I AM getting to the age where getting stuff found and taken care of early really pays off. Also, this is Canada, things like this aren't going to increase any invisible insurance premiums or cost me a bunch of money or fuck up medical records or anything

Yeah, and there's a six-year-old and very heavily commented github issue requesting a little more ownership over your account in full, including posts, but it's been pretty clear from the lack of responses there, comments from contributors elsewhere, and various quotes, that this kind of account/post ownership isn't really on the docket for Mastodon. Or at the very least it's not within their vision of how Masto should work, and is not a priority to develop as a result.
I feel like this is kinda like the quote post thing where the owner's vision goes against the people's practical desires, and getting something like post imports or more atomic accounts is going to be like pulling teeth to get implemented. The IDEAL is "it shouldn't matter what instance your account is on" but reality is far from that

Yeah I was bringing up the DID thing with Snarfed the other day because the idea of losing your entire post history because of, like, a bad mod interaction is a legitimate fear that I also have. With the Bounce thing that A New Social just released, if your mastodon account gets banned then you lose both mastodon AND bsky and that's a huge issue, but I don't have a good answer on how to fix that besides additions to the protocol.
As for BSKY's enshittification, at the very least the protocol is solid so if the app of BSKY gets real bad, then at least the protocol still exists and people can migrate around to different PDSs. If there is a core issue with moderation though, then that can't really be solved because it's all one firehose. That being said, Mastodon/fedi also has a moderation issue that a lot of fedi users refuse to acknowledge which is overstepping mods who take heresay as actionable evidence about single users, or go nuclear and defederate from an entire instance for a couple problem users. That's more of a human problem I don't have a good answer for either, and I imagine moderating a large instance for free is a hard job, but it's still a present problem.
I mean the REAL answer here is get your local selfhosting friend to spin up an instance for you and your friends, but then you gotta then do the work to become part of those relays. It's a lot of stuff for a non-technical person to process, where BSKY they just click the button and welcome whatever may come

Man this is what pisses me off SO much. I wish the masto users (me included) at the time did a better job helping and explaining to people. But even then idk if that would have worked, BSKY was big and covered by large news outlets, and their invitation system in the beginning with a few larger furries getting in early really helped set it up as the next microblog platform.
If mastodon had a better app with a piss-easy on-boarding process, and had there been some larger furry instances that were alternatives to meow.social at the time, I think we coulda seen real success here. I definitely think it’s too late now though, and the sentiment I see from a lot of people is that they will just stop using social media or keep using twitter if BSKY dies for some reason.
Stuff like this is why I want Bridgy to succeed. I trust you, I trust Keiko, I trust meow’s admins for the most part but I don’t know em as well as you or keiko, but I certainly trust em more than I trust BSKY, as good as they are, to have my best interests in mind.
I was talking about this in a group the other day and I was pretty surprised by how many people seriously, honestly used the reason that they get more interactions and dopamine from twitter so they stick around vs other platforms. I’m glad they’re honest about it, but I think it indicates a difference in why I post vs why someone with those motivations posts

Yeeeahhh one of my goals for the next little while is to get more kid clothes, maybe some shortall and overalls with some plainer colours that I could work more often. I love the bright colourblock ones but they ARE loud hahaha
Or maybe some colourblock ones that are using some of those nice pastel styles you see on newer colourblock clothes like yellows and pinks and light blues and stuff

Finally broke the seal on wearing an age-appropriate fit in public. This was at a local pride thing so it was a lot less a huge thing than if I was wearing in normal public, but y’know, baby steps!

I was never a pokemon cards kid (always hated the idea of something so fragile as a paper card) but man I feel like I missed out on that! Same with pokemon proper! Never really played as a kid, and playing now means playing with/alongside a bunch of people who play competitively which really isn't my speed

I'd need to trust the person A LOT but, y'know, if it was MY PERSON like I was dating em or something, ideally we'd have that trust
Because man, that would be the dream scenario hahaha.
I think there's a lot of ways you could do this without it being total control, like if I still had my logins and such but I was just trusting the other person to handle the rest. I do feel like there would be a bit of inherent unfairness with relying on them to do all MY banking, but I think that's relatively easy if things like auto deposit and withdrawal are set up, and then when tax season comes I do my own.
There needs to be, like, a LittleTykes credit card I could have with a very low limit hahaha

I know this VERY quickly easily leads to an unhealthy dynamic, but the idea of basically giving "dad" control of my money is really huff. Having to ask parental permission before buying stuff. I don't get to buy my own clothes and stuff. etc
"oh your shoes wore out kiddo? Don't worry I got these big colourful velcro ones for you. No we're not getting different ones."
"No kid, you agreed to this. Now your outfit is laid out on the bed, go get dressed and we're going out. If you're lucky we can get a treat"
Getting brought to the bar with dad, he tells the tender that "my kid's with me, I hope that's okay"
Gotta sit next to him drinking apple juice or something while he flirts with some guy. The guy says he's gotta go piss, dad says "oh don't worry just use the kid" as he unbuckles the shortalls to pull my waistband back
Ride in the adult carseat on the way back while they continue to flirt in the front like I'm not there. Get put to bed early while they go fuck. Oh nooooo the baby monitor is the wrong way round so I gotta listen to em bone while I'm locked in mitts in my crib. Turns out dad also snuck laxitives in my bedtime snack. Have to get changed in front of this new hot dude.

The cloudflare one is probably more secure, and you can just throw it on another machine
I’ve got ALL of my machines containerized in proxmox because it’s super easy but it’s basically a oner to install on anything Linux

I hosted a nginx proxy manager container directly in proxmox without using docker. Was great besides a couple of specific needs I had.
I’ve since switched to CloudFlare Tunnels because I don’t have to open any ports on my network, and I can use external accounts (like my google workspace) to limit certain admin panels to only be used by me without having to mess around with a self-hosted middleware

I think mastodon needs a better way to find new accounts to follow, I feel like I've reached a plateau of little accounts I wanna follow even with using my bridge tool to find bridged accounts from BSKY
