That would be great! We anyway want to federate link preview metadata (I see there's https://helge.codeberg.page/fep/fep/8967/ though nobody seems to have implemented it yet) so it'd be great if it was done as an extension of that, so that non-scientific platforms can still show a subset of the preview information at least? And yeah looking at existing schemas to reuse sounds great, maybe we can collaborate on a FEP draft that just points to those and shows some examples?

You can bring your posts (+ optionally replies) with you when moving to a Bonfire instance from another instance or platform. Imported posts keep their original dates and URIs. Threads are preserved, as are like/boost counts. It works by "boosting" all your old posts (without flooding others' feeds with old activities).

Oh yeah that's a good point, we recently added the option to filter feeds (including notifications) by circles, so we'd just need to add a way to also exclude circles.

And it should go without saying, we put in a lot of effort and thinking so that every feature we build is not app-specific but can interoperate with the rest of the fediverse, whether other apps have an equivalent feature or not. For aspects for example, each topic could be represented by a separate ActivityPub actor (which would boost relevant activities from your main profile) that people could then follow from any fediverse instance or app.

hey there! Yeah we are still rolling :) mostly heads down on finishing the 1.0 release hence we are not communicating much new experimentations lately. But we aim to put the testing server online again in 2-3 weeks with *lots* of improvements.
Ofc manpower has always been a huge limit as well as finances, but we will get there ✌️… ha! the joy of floss

yeah it’s a pity we still didn’t found a way to focus on RFF pilot! We are trying to get the 1.0 out and at same time find sustainability to pay ourselves and onboard new devs among other things. Maybe applying to a grant to develop the needed features could be a way to push this forward? Happy to chat more about it…
