And this is not to minimize his take, I hate this sort of take, we are at a time where we could stop, and try to think twice if this whole shit show could be done better, we can avoid the same stupid mistakes of industrial revolution and strive for something far better, but companies and this sort of "you can't stop progress discourse" is keeping us away from that outcome, and I hate that, I hate that with every fiber of myself.

Yeah, I'm not surprised of his statement, he's been vocal about this for months by now.
Just don't try to make excuses like "He obviously is going to support AI because they pay his salary!", no.
The guy is like that, he doesn't see or care about the moral or social issues regarding AI, he just sees the results that work for him, and goes about that, and that's just the mindset of a lot of developers out there, so please, stop trying to scuba dive in a puddle.

I like that the compiler yells at me so I don't do stupid things, that's good.
I like built-in allocators, that's good too!

This whole Blender situation reminds me of what happened months ago with the Python Foundation, only with the opposite result because y'know, the Python Foundation actually refused that money.
I'm not gonna stop using Blender because of this, because I actually have good faith in the Blender dev team, but I certainly won't feel good seeing Anthropic there at all, and I would rather prefer they didn't take that filthy money.

Seriously, what's up with that superiority complex over the tools/languages you use? I'm a C programmer and you don't see me wiping my dick out in front of others? I like homebrew development for old consoles, but that doesn't make me a "superior developer" (it makes me a masochist nerd tho).
I really dislike how that behavior is so extended, grow up, people likes other stuff, just because we think something is a better option doesn't mean it's the only valid option.

I remember having a conversation with a rando in the Godot server once, now it was probably just a troll, but I just found it really funny now.
They were really aggressive with "Uh. Godot should have official support for Rust, C# is a language for idiots, performance is everything, this is wrong because I said so"
And you know? The sad part wasn't that guy thinking they were funny with their behavior, but that fact that people like them actually exist, and I have encountered them before 7-7

I do know about discord alternatives, but telling people to switch to a different program when the one they use pretty much satisfies their needs is usually a useless effort.
Yeah, discord should fix their shit considering it's not that hard, but until Linux market share rises enough to be noticeable we're pretty much condemned to deal with it this way.
