I couldn't quite get the various Mattermost ➡️ Matrix/Synapse migration tools working.
So after successfully "banzai testing" ITM with our own Mattermost with posts dating back to 2019 and 800+ MB of attachments, I'll be releasing it as AGPLv3 shortly.

I'm a bit curious about GoToSocial, in particular because I want to host a few Fediverse/ActivityPub instances myself, and GTS seems to be a bit less resource hungry and supports "backports" of past data.

I Region Dalarna har man nu infört ännu ett nytt kasst journalsystem (Cosmic) som har så mycket problem och är så dåligt konstrurerat att sköterskor och läkare spenderar mer tid i journalsystemet än på att ge vård. Effektivisering på hög nivå. Leverantören skrattar hela vägen till banken.
Regionernas upphandlingskompetens går förmodligen inte att mäta med några mått eller på någon skala.

Trying to help a friend, who's partner passed unexpectedly. No passwords or codes left behind, no access to e-mail for password resets. Thousands of photos on a Windows laptop from their time together. Bitlocker active (I found out by doing a simple Linux USB boot and listing the partitions).

I can't seem to find any, and considering it's been around "for a while", I would have thought there would be some (yes, I'm aware of all the fabulous *DAV variants, thanks).
(I mean, there are plenty of e-mail servers that run on Linux, for example, that has server-side support for it.)

"Mastodon" really needs to get cracking on full data portability, IMHO.
It's a shame this hasn't been pushed higher up on the list of things to do.
I think many people have invested quite a bit of time and effort into their posts and profiles, and moving all that data, or somehow managing a switch-over doesn't seem to be that simple, if at all possible.

Ja, man kan ju hoppas det.
Jag har tyvärr erfarenhet av att så inte alltid är fallet. Nu är kidsen (mina) större och går inte längre i skolan, så jag skall inte lägga mig i. För mig så känns det dock som att det är en hel del "för mycket input-kanaler" för många barn som det är. Mobilen tror jag inte gör det bättre.

Banker, försäkringsbolag, studier, osv osv använder ofta länkar, ibland hamnar besökaren inte ens till slut på en "riktig domän" 💩
