it took a long while of tinkering to get the gifs under 50mb for a minute of playback. Topically I try to keep them in the 40ish range. @npub1z6g…amwj and @npub1mqz…9wxa just showed me .avif which look just as good for a fraction of the size

I would import the show, generate a brand new rss feed thru podhome, and copy the new feed info into the one we self host. Instead of redirecting anything, the Podcast index would still list the self hosted feed. It’s an extra step when it comes to publishing weekly but I don’t think it would affect anything on y’all’s end.

Podserve didn’t support many of the newer tags, it was a way to add tags as needed. Both @npub1tgc…uegx and myself follow this method.
Yes, that would be a good middle ground for me. It wouldn’t be the case for all of them, maybe just BTS. I should get a list together to show you what I’m thinking of transferring over.

I do have a compromise possibly. How we’re currently set up is we use Podserve to host the mp3s. The feed the index has however is a link to a self hosted feed. We upload the new ep to Podserve and copy all the new info in using sovereign feeds. The main issue with this is it makes it hard for two people to work on the same feed remotely.
What if we did the same set up here? Podhome to host and keep the feed as is in the index

I did have an additional ask, the ability to directly edit the feed is very valuable for me. I know I mentioned it before but quickly grabbing live items and pasting them into various feeds for rebroadcasting is something we do regularly. It's also an easy way to grab whole value blocks for building live event feeds. Would you consider adding a use at your own risk opt-in only way to add an direct edit interface?

Sall good, appreciate it! Overall, it was a fun and easy night getting set up for the stream. One hiccup I can see is the 1400px art minimum. All of the BTS gifs for show art/chapters are 500px typically to allow for the extra long playback. Could you drop the minimum?

the live value link for question 3. For this last concert, the person driving the splits was in Kansas City while the show took place in Minneapolis. The reason I ask about custom editing feeds is we quite often copy and paste live episode into the BTS feed for rebroadcasting special events.

I’m interested in migrating a handful of feeds over but a few of them feature experimental tags like the chat in the live items. In addition, how do the VTS work? Is there a spot to input a link from the split kit in? My last question is about video, currently all the skirmishes are hosted thru cloudflare, do you take video submissions as well? Thanks man o7

The live split kit page could have boostable buttons that producers can cast spells on the party. Could range based off the alignment grid from being real helpful to summoning goblins to fight.
Spells could be really slick within the split kit. activate the block (or spell), .mp3 plays, sats get deducted from the dungeon master/monster feed. Character sheets would be another rss feed with special tags implementing charisma etc. Same with potions. It’s DnD with a live studio audience #playwalls

I have the solution for this #paywall conversation.
We use podroll, remote items, and sats as a way to create feeds used as inventory and special move sets (I.e spells). Sats could have like a front end tally end for HP, MP, and Gil. Purchasing items and weapons would be adding those things to your feed with podroll, activating them would create a call and response with the appropriate afflicted feed and do whatever fancy math needed.

I don't know how it would work but I could see these as the equivalent of a show having a activity pub presence with some of the Owncast functionality of making a post when a show goes live. As in the split kit event guid is or has a corresponding activity pub account. It's posts reflect the live block, similar to the split kit relay for the chat. Alternatively, activate polls from the split kit to then publish to a post. Some early morning musings with a post douche glow.
