I went through years of fighting off solar salesman with the statement that I was an electrical contractor and would do it myself if I ever wanted it.

When my stepsons did a shitty job on the dishes I’d grab a greasy dish out of the rack and say “Would you want to lick this?”
The answer was no of course.
What they did need was some basic materials handling instruction.
You don’t just push the grease on the stove around with a paper towel …..you have to pick it up and get a new one and repeat until it’s all been removed.
