Oh yeah, there is defiantly reason to have separate accounts for posting different things if that's you use case but for your basic personal user who just wants to follow people, see stuff and maybe drop a comment that shouldn't be a requirement

TBH it reads like Pixelfed and Mastodon are just invested in being their own thing and there just isn't the will to give end users an easy experience. Like, I don't think it's malicious or anything, just a lack of will and maybe not thinking about things in terms of more basic users.

It would be really great to just have one fedi account and swap between a Mastadon view, a Pixelfed type view of just photos and such and a Peertube view that's just going to show you videos and let you manage playlists and such.
It would really make the whole fediverse a lot easier to get into for new people too.
