While I think the problem that caused me to leave FA for good was mostly properly handled in the end, it was deeply off-putting to me how it was handled before a large number of people protested and started leaving, and it taints my sense of it being truly "fixed" when loss of revenue is what caused the admin behavior to change. I get that running a platform and keeping the peace is a MASSIVE undertaking, and shit happens, but I don't leave platforms the way I left FA (and a number of other platforms) over issues I see as fixable. I hate having to leave over it, but for FA, all I need to do is look at historically just how many times the site admin has thrown shit at the fan to feel that it can't be a proper home for me anymore. I'm not a Fedora expert by any means, but I once got close to the exact issue with archlinux once. I did something the system didn't expect with the root partition, which caused a hang during boot. The issue was with the initial ramdisk, which I had to reconfigure with mkinitcpio because even though I corrected the fstab, the initial ramdisk was still checking for the now incorrect system details. I'd literally just pour it in my ear, lay down for three to five minutes, then turn over with paper towels under my ear with my ear facing the ground to let it drain out. repeat with other ear if needed. They should all work on any wayland system that lets you reassign/shortcut keys. the only one that's specific is pactl vs wpctl, pactl is for pulseaudio (still works for pipewire with pipewire-pulse) and wpctl is for pipewire through wireplumber.
