This is how I felt. I’ve been working in fiat mines for 20+ years and felt like I could never keep pace. I worked hard and was loyal, but I got screwed by my boss and almost got laid off. The system is rigged.
Heroes usually live long enough to become the villain, but for right now Saylor is doing what we would all do in his spot.

Go with the one that will challenge you more. The more you learn the more well rounded you become.
You go with brewpub job, it’ll teach you about the restaurant business and high throughput. After this job you could go work at a bigger restaurant or open your own brewpub.
Go with the French cuisine and you will be honing an art. You would learning about finer cuisine and be maybe a personal chef.
Think about what you can do 1-2 jobs down the line after this one and that might help.

Are there any solutions to an auction on #nostr?
Advertisers would need to place a bid on the space for a certain amount of time at a specific time. Top bidder wins, losers save their budget for the next auction.

Let’s pull on this idea of the reach of 121 people vs a 21 sat zap…
The only reason that your “reach” is valuable is because it is a way for advertisers to monetize you. They have everyone conditioned to want to get the biggest audience they can so that advertisers can put their ads in front your huge audience.
This model incentivizes gaining the biggest audience, which is not the same as providing actual value to people. It appeals to people’s most base desires for attention and it is very easy to spin up bots to dole out likes to fake an audience to capture the ad revenue.
The 21 Sats, while tiny in terms of USD value today, represents a portion of the entire global #Bitcoin network that is protected by POW miners. Actual energy went into mining that 21 sats, and that is now being exchanged for value. There are only 21 million Bitcoin, so it is much harder to fake the exchange of a sat than a like.

Has #nostrbookclub read this yet? Needed a book for my flight and stumbled across it.
The author Mervyn King was head of the Bank of England from 2003-2013 and witnessed the 2008 financial collapse first hand. Even in the first chapter he describes what we have been witnessing today.
Central banks were stuck on a zero/negative interest rate policy to try and make up for the fact that growth was dead after the 2008 collapse. There’s no way to continue with high interest rates without collapsing the system.
