Really exciting race!
I would have liked to see who would actually have won if George’s car didn’t break down. I actually felt bad for George. That was a bunch of good racing while George’s car lasted. Congrats Kimi on the win.
Lewis on the podium? Awesome! Seeing him so happy is great.
Max on the podium? Fantastic — it’s been too long.
I think the stewards were a bit too much during this race — especially towards Hadjar.
McLaren’s call to start Lando and Oscar on inters was a horrible decision. Felt bad for Lando especially for both losing the advantage from the qualifying and also the broken car.

Agreed 100%. Now that you mention that the Grogu focused portion felt like a standalone episode ... this movie does feel like three episodes mashed into one -- the opening with the AT ATs, the gladiator Hutt part, the Hutt palace invasion and then the Grogu part.

Today's movie was **Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu** (2026).
The Mandalorian and Grogu is a fun Star Wars adventure while is lasts, but ultimately will be forgotten or remembered as a good two hour Season 4 of the show.
The first two thirds of the movie was a rollicking bunch of action, but then it abruptly slows down to a crawl and had me looking at my watch multiple times. I am not sure why they stretched out this portion of the movie so long. While it did add to the growth of Grogu, it did not warrant the amount of time that spent on it.
Now Disney has two John Wicks in their stable. With The Punisher: One Last Kill, Disney produced the John Wick of Marvel. With The Mandalorian and Grogu, Disney has produced the John Wick of Star Wars. The action sequences in The Mandalorian and Grogu are well done and well choreographed, but they lack any of the visceral energy of a John Wick action sequence. This is understandable though because of its PG-13 rating.
I really enjoyed the use of practical effects, along with a full sequence using stop motion in the film. I also like that the filmmakers used real sets which gave the movie a more grounded and real feel when compared to the streaming show which made ample use of The Volume.
It was great to see Sigourney Weaver back in space, but wow she really phoned home her performance. It was fun seeing Dave Filoni's cameo in the film.
The most awesome thing was seeing Zeb on the big screen. Star Wars Rebels is my favorite of the Star Wars shows (animated or live), so seeing the crew of The Ghost continue to expand into other Star Wars projects is wonderful.
Worth mentioning is the excellent score from Ludwig Göransson which has a very experimental sound to it.
The Mandalorian and Grogu will entertain Star Wars fans, though it will probably not expand the fan base of Star Wars. I was entertained enough and will likely watch it again when it hits Disney+. Is The Mandalorian and Grogu a movie to be experienced on the big screen? Not really, it would be a fine movie to watch at home when it hits Disney+.

After three months and 1.6k posts later on [snac](https://codeberg.org/grunfink/snac2 ), I'm super happy. Main things that I like about running snac for my Fediverse presence:<li>Light on resources. I can run this on a potato if I wanted and it would run great (I'm not, but I could.)</li><li>Backups are easy. Tar up the directory. Done.</li><li>Migrations are easy. Install nginx, build snac, untar backup. Done.</li><li>Quirky web interface. It takes a little to get used to it, but it is very functional and it's got character. I thought I would use <a href="https://halo.mookiesplace.com">Phanpy</a> with it more, but I'm not. I enjoy the snac web interface.</li><li>Works (mostly) with Mastodon clients.</li><li>No crazy caching of photos, avatars and other media. This is a really big deal because my disk usage is so much lower than when I ran Mastodon.</li><li>No database. NO DATABASE. So good.</li><li>Fast. snac is really fast doing everything. I love to read, but don't do it enough. The other day I picked up a Xteink X4 for $69 and I have been using it a bunch -- I'm currently reading H.P. Lovecraft's [Short Fiction](https://standardebooks.org/ebooks/h-p-lovecraft/short-fiction ) from Standard Ebooks. This reader is so tiny and easy to carry around that it is a great way to not doom scroll and just read a good book.
I replaced the stock OS with [CrossPoint Reader](https://github.com/crosspoint-reader/crosspoint-reader ) which makes it a lot faster and easier to use (it was easy to switch over). One of the nice things is that there is a mode that turns the reader into an access point, I connect to it and there is a tiny web server on the reader itself that allows me to upload books, manage books and manage the reader's settings.
Here's a picture of it next to my iPhone 16 Pro and a Hot Wheels car.
