That quote is interesting. "Legally obligated" under what jurisdiction? Switzerland? Because in the US, a foundation can change its purpose pretty much at will, and to any arbitrary purpose that fancy's the will of the board. See, for example, the Mozilla Foundation, or the EFF. In those cases, there was no guarantee at all that they'd stick to their original purpose. And as we have seen over the last 25 years, they have not.

This is INCREDIBLY BAD news. 😞
One of the reasons I really appreciated @npub19kd…t56d was precisely the fact that they were (a) a private company, and (b) had a simple free market relationship with its customers. I pay you, you provide me a good.
The shift to a non-profit "foundation" means that relationship is now broken. Proton's "customer" will NOW be whoever bankrolls the foundation, and *I* will become an annoying third party that has to be dealt with.

These people are engaged in a harassment campaign. Mastodon provides both a mute and a block button. If they don't like Lunduke, they can do that. The only reason to do what they're doing is precisely harassment.

It's pretty disgusting that @npub1etd…lfkc would even entertain this nonsense.
I'm wondering why I should even stay here, if this is the kind of thing that's taken seriously. It means the inmates are running the asylum.

Just spent the last 4 or 5 days customizing my new Tuxedo mid-tower! This machine is amazing! Thanks!
Sadly, the display died Tuxedo laptop I bought two years ago, literally 3 months after the warrantee expired. Too bad, because I really loved that laptop, too! :(
