It's amazing how anthropic nerfs the thing so hard it becomes unusable.
I'm glad too that opencode allows for using the copilot subscription (the only ai subs the company allows).
Opencode becomes both an IDE and a way to use non Microsoft copilot models.

It's a marketplace of inference providers. Inference is when you run the llm and let people send requests to it.
The big models: Gemini, gpt and Claude have development and inference provided by their parent companies (Google, open ai and anthropic).
The open models have a multitude of providers. Venice, for example, offers glm(developed by z.ai), Kimi (developed by moonshot aí), R1(developed by deep seek) and a few others. But not only Venice, the same models are offered by other companies too, including but not limited by their developers

My first day on openclaw I used Gemini flash. 50 eur in 24h. Then switched to glm from Venice. 3 eur per day.
Of course it varies based on token consumption but pricing is significantly different

Try using openrouter for it, you can use both of the models/providers you mentioned and try a bunch of other Open source ones.
Tip: in open router, check for provider preferences and select only the ones not Chinese and that don't use prompt data (Venice is one of them)
You can use Kimi, glm and a bunch of other good open models and retain privacy

I think in Russia there are many different tribes. Russia is also one of the main places for Tor usage :)
I was surprised to see an active organic community of people on bitchat.

After about a week in Russia, using @bitchat regularly I found out:
1) Bluetooth mesh, although very useful and great to send info locally still has a very weak range. Notable mention to Android phones reaching significantly further than iphones.
2) connection gets jammed often in the city here. Almost every time I was downtown mobile internet was jammed, only wifi and regular phone works. There could be a higher powered device to extend the mesh in these places, like cafés and on so
3) the geohash chat in Russia is always populated. +10 ppl at any point in time. A great way to find tips about which vpns to use and get other info from locals (or feds, who knows?)
4) it is still so early for bitchat! I installed in the whole family's fleet of phones, everyone used it without trouble. UX looks intimidating but it's actually not

This month I've been trying out venice.ai
Pretty cool service. You get to try a bunch of different open source models with a pretty slim UI (not that clunky hugging chat). Kimi, GLM and even their version of Mistral's latest.
The promise is still uncensored AI and privacy focused AI; they are almost there (all models are just using other inference providers) but it's pretty good to try.

I don't think you will throw it all out afterwards. It is still a good thing to keep and prototype on as you evolve.
The main drawback I see on replit: it skews you into using their infra. But that doesn't mean you can't hire a developer (or even cursor) to change that. One can develop on replit and commit code to GitHub, which makes you free to use cursor (and also replit) for evolving and making it more robust.
But that doesn't mean you'll throw it all out. It might just mean that your workflow switches to cursor and you work together with developers on the same repo.
A second drawback I see is that replit and cursor are both in one single repo. As your feature set grows it makes it harder for the models to be fully aware of your context. Here again might you may hit a point where you want to hire someone to help you restructure and architect the code. It is not incompatible with the cursor idea i shared above.
If I were in your place I would start by
1) dual development - replit and cursor - because it creates the foundation in GitHub for you to collab with a developer. You'll start using issues, actions etc. You'll gradually turn replit into one part of your dev cycle
2) start looking for a dev that could help you structure the code and architecture.
All in all you don't need to ditch replit completely but you can grow further than it's vanilla usage

I'm still trying this, so take it with a grain of salt: plug the code into GitHub and then use cursor to develop even better.
The problems I couldn't solve for yet are: multi repo development and keeping the codebase clean (replit makes a big mess out of branches and you need to clean it up manually with git. Not fun.
But I do see it as a step further. Since replit is good to start, but then starts getting nasty re implemting things left and right

Extra points for being super easy to create shared accounts with loved ones (like your mom's bank account).

I think you're missing a couple of things for your guide to be even more actionable.
1) there are dozens of blocking lists. The biggest ones are enough for most people. One of my favorites is the telemetry list for smart devices. It blocks all known trackers from smart tvs, laptops and other modern privacy threats. Great to have on your router
2) troubleshooting denylists: if a website you use stops working you need to
A) go to logs and try again. Filter "blocked requests only"
B) add the domain to the allowlist and wait a few minutes.
C) try again until it works.
3) most decent VPNs allow you to add the custom DNS in settings. Adding it there guarantees that you don't leak any DNS requests (wouldn't be to your ISP but to the VPN's DNS server)
4) blocking things that aren't in lists. Just watch over the logs when accessing a website you think is sneaky. Then go adding them to the denylist.
5) remember to name your device (the instructions are in the connection details) Or create a different profile per device. I typically have a laxxed router profile and a heavy blocking device profile. To avoid issues like guests and your loved ones not getting to access normies services when on your WiFi.
Point 2 of what I shared was the main concern some friends had over banking apps getting blocked if you were too heavy handed. But following that you can pretty much enable selectively (or Temporarily when you need them)
