Excellent. Glad it might have been simply an oversight. I often that most of the time, something is merely incompetence / oversight and not malice. But those times when it is malice is what you've really got to watch for!
Still, I think it is horrific the China would be push that sort of language erasure. And the point about green groups looking to China as a green savior in light of Western instransigence is something really dangerous.

Horrific. I had no idea that this was a thing. I guess one benefit of this is you know which organizations are compromised or not thinking clearly. I fear that the benefits that are coming from China's rapid production of green tech will cause many environmental groups to look the other way and compromise their values.

I know the Canadian Constitution would not have been approved without it but the not withstanding clause has always seemed like a big time bomb in Canadian politics to me.
I know it’s use is supposed to be so unusual but it feels like something in the coarse political age we all are in worldwide to be something a politician with no scruples will employ.

Realize I made this answer mostly about me instead of answering the question. Basically once I get all my files over to a new system, I don't think I will use Windows that much if at all. I use Fedora 97% of the time (and I use Windows mainly to get a file or install a computer update that gets stuck). I'd say go for it if you don't think you need it!

I am curious - what are you using? I have been thinking something similar but I was so enmeshed in Windows stuff for years it is just taking me a bit longer to transfer things over than I thought. But I mainly go over there to get a file I need. I finally settled on using @npub1g8h…ru3l (with support from pCloud to replace OneDrive.

I have a theory I developed as a vegetarian. There are vegan restaurants and restaurants that happen to be vegan. Vegan restaurants are very "crunchy" and tend to have overpriced food that is not tasty. They tend to serve Western white people. They are like McDonald's for vegan tourists. But the second category are good places (often local foods) cooked vegetarian or vegan in creative ways. I wish I could filter out the former and look for the later.

I genuinely don't know what to make of Vance. I remember once someone said about Bush II - Which is worse - that he is actually stupid or knows exactly what he is doing? Vance feels like the later. He's hitched his ride to the neo-reactionary far-right in the US because he sees that as the route to power. But how much does he actually believe it? The one thing that gives me pause is how fluently he appears to have imbibed Catholic far-right rhetoric.

She was one of my professors when I was an undergraduate at Harvard. She was one of my favorite professors. I took a course with her on Bible and Empire. The material was a bit too hard for an undergraduate but she was very encouraging. That class was the first one where I felt confident that I could actually make good points and do good work. Interesting to hear this. I have heard mixed things about the game. I feel like they need to use cost as an easy handicap but the problem with the adoption of green tech is not cost but perception and culture. I wonder how you could mimic this mentality in Catan? Maybe you need to take double turns to make Green energy choices that only need one turn otherwise?

If you log-in to one of the devices, it should sync it up and then you can re-log into the other devices. I had to do that. With a newborn at home, I've been doing a lot on my phone and so I logged in on iOS first, and then I did it on all my other devices. One silver lining to the outage and reset is it got rid of a couple of ghost device accounts in my sync from attempts to download Linux.

I still love #Firefox. And I had given Brave some thought, though I am leery of their interest in crypto / AI. Same with but I think they are trying to take a middle ground. I used to use Firefox primarily but I stopped for a couple of different reasons, mainly that I could not easily add two different Firefox Sync log-ins to my work computer. But it remains my secondary browser. In this outage I tried Librewolf and Zen Browser and was pretty impressed.

Vivaldi browser had a long sync outage that is now back online. I appreciated how transparent they were about the difficulties. It was frustrating but I still support them and will use the browser:
1) No other browser is as feature rich with such a robust community.
2) They have made an active and genuine commitment to the Fediverse.
3) And they refuse to get on the AI hype train.

I actually wonder how the NK troops are going to do. On one hand, NK has one of the largest armies. But how much combat have they actually seen and how prepared are they for a real fight. Thanks for sharing! I have contemplated signing up but don't have the bandwidth at the moment. I think bsky's rejection of ActivityPub gave me pause - I still don't understand the need to make something completely new instead of improving what we already have. Most people don't care at all about Protocol Wars - and I know it is not THAT important.

I can understand. I thought about the T480 but I was worried whether I would get one of quality.
I like Framework's philosophy and general culture. What pushed me over the line was the fact that as a matter of principle they do not do Black Friday sales. Nice to see some integrity.
I am now focusing on purchasing repairable devices going forward. Easier said than done but worth trying!

I do. Just a simple way to get 85% of what I use. I recently bought a Framework laptop and having the apps synced made restoring the device much easier.
Now that I am starting to use Fedora more, I laugh at all the small details Microsoft seems to be copying from Linux.
For this question, I realize Elk on the App storenis basically a Web app for Edge. I have been avoiding Edge like the plague since they started integrating AI gimmicks.

Great food! Our favorite place in Khan Market is Sodabottleopenerwalla - every time we are back we go at least once. We have done Parsi Thanksgiving here for the past two years in homage.
We used to love Turtle Cafe too before it closed.
