If this institutions try to force an uncapped version of bitcoin as nobody is going yo follow them, they will be creating a hard fork just as happened to bitcoin cash.
I've never heard monero users saying that the beat way to liquidate monero is with litecoin. Just use bisq or haveno and exchange it for cash.
Bitcoin is not inconsistent with the number of blocks it creates. Maybe with individual transactions but in my case as a user, I've never had problems with transactions stuck in the mempool for days. Also that's the reason of transaction fees selection, you arent going to pay the minimum fee if you want a quick transaction, right? Anyway, there's also L2 bitcoin with lightning, making you able to pay quickly for a coffee or at the grocery shop.

tbh your comparison it's more emotion-driven than actual facts. This comparison has no sense to me. Answering to your complains:
1. the 21M limit cannot be modified that easily as you're saying. You'll need unanimous consensus from lots, thousands of independent nodes operators, miners, exchanges and users around the globe.
2. LTC? You serious? laundering money on a blockchain with a fully transparent public ledger. Doesn't make any sense. Maybe you saying by using MWEB but anyway exchanges block transactions from it just as they block monero transactions to comply with regulations.
3. Bitcoin is non fungible, yes, kinda because the public ledger can trace back transactions and link them. But scarcity? Literally bictoin's supply is limited to 21M, pretty scarce tbh.
4. judgind a sovereign asset on it's base-layer speed its nonsense. Also, the bitcoin's 10 minute block limit and small block sizes are a security choice, not a failure as you mention. Small blocks literally allow regular people to run a full node on a "cheap" home computer, making the network more decentralized.
In summarize, you need to study bitcoin and monero more before making this wrong statements.

It depends on "WHO" are those "bitcoin maxis" you're referring to. Here in nostr, I've seen lots of those kind of bitcoin users you're complaining about. They are corny as fuck. I don't see a future in lightning. The only off-chain protocol I think it's worth (IMO) it it's cashu. Yeah, its centralized (for now) but literally it's just like fiat system: Bitcoin on-chain (always the best, secure and reliable) it's your bank acc.
Cashu: it's your physical wallet. If you lose it you will do it with all your money in it, that's why following the reason you don't carry more than a couple hundreds in your wallet, you shouldn't in cashu.
I concluded this after years of using bitcoin, years of using lightning and years of using and studying cashu.

I believe the fee percentage is applied over the pool denomination. If you use let's say 0.05btc pool size, the fee would be 5% of 0.05, which is 0.0025btc. You will need to play with those pool sizes to see which one is more convenient for you. If the max amount of UTXOs is 20 per mix, and let's say you're mixing 0.1BTC, you use the 0.001btc pool size, it means you'll have to do 5 different mixes. Each mix is 5% of 0.001 (0.00005), in total for 5 mixes is a fixed 0.00025btc fee. In that case, your fee was 0.25% from your balance not 5%. Obviously if you don't know how to use whirlpool and you have 0.051btc, then you mix on 0.05 pool size, you'll end up fucking it up and finding out near 5% of your balance is gone.
Depending in what do you want exactly you may find wasabi/join market/joinstr cheaper or whirlpool cheaper.
