i intentionally subject myself to the utter hellscape that is trying to meet anyone online with some regularity.
they're not responding back, period. in circles specifically *for* kink talk its all hookers angling to drop an invoice. in low-stakes places (tabletops, discords, fedi) its ghosting for all x.
some of the smaller (euro heavy, sadly) groups even do the runaround of "just talk more bruh" and then actively route you out of the conversation when you do, like one i still head desk in to after eight months where they simultaneously expect me to take up all clique and ice breaking activities while actively bypassing any actual attempts to join the conversation.

oh those aren't.. exactly cans. there's some annoying distinction about "on ear" and "over ear" where like K240S covers the ear entirely and koss tends to just sit atop the head.
what goes to shit on them? if its the foam, i think koss enthusiasts buy oversized aftermarket foamies. all my bluetooths have aftermarket gel pods (even though it makes the bose slightly worse at ANC, it does mean wearing them 8 hours with glasses is little problem)
if its the wire, F, because koss doesn't make anything better. i think moondrop makes clones, but they're probably also hardlined.

i prefer cans but i tend to go outside with IEMs. i think the current rig is like, moondrop chus and nice buds in a little IEM can. plug em in to a cheapo fiio bluetooth. the whole thing is like 60$ in total and fits in a little (not that little, but still.) disc you can put in a sling bag.
TWS buds are good for this but the best ones i've used so far (earfuns) still try to work themselves out of the ear. and the ones with hooks (skullcandy push) have ass sound. :blobcathuh:

avoided buying superlux headphones recently :blobcatgoogly: they do make some clones of k240s and the popular beyerdynamics closed ones.
clone vendors don't bother me too much. when your headphone design is 40 years old you kinda recouped the R&D cost by now.

i used deepfilternet commercially (my audiobook recordings use it as a final pass over the mastering) but its computationally nontrivial (its a whole neural network based filter; you could probably finagle it on to vulkan) and people said its the cleanest signal they've ever heard.
rnnoise is relatively cheap (its just basic anti-noise + the tiniest AI filter) and everywhere. kind of embarassing at this point to not have noise reduction when you can literally just import it.

recently realized that liquid state machines talk about a bag of neurons laundering input to a readout. the readout then gets used for the actual task you wanted to do.
then realized that the engrams numentas old model puts out is basically the readout. they didn't know what to do with the output though. but the rest of the cortical model is.. describing the inside of what the liquid machine is attempting to copy.
so basically what i'm gonna do is take a couple of these known parts and stick em in a loop

beads seems to have a whole ecosystem based around a very elegant design: json files for records, i guess piled in to one big json-l file, which is cached in sqlite. not bad. i would have done the same (well one js per record but still.)
now the dev replaced it with uh. a dolt server, and the json-l is some kind of import/export format but they then say its for migration now and not regular sync. so the tools still say they support 'beads' but they actually aren't now, and theres beads_rust which implements the old beads that everything uses.

i think their official answer to this is to just shotgun to multiple relays at the time. i'm not too aware of any gossip features, although if relays do negentropy syncs (many softs support it) then a message will eventually crawl across the network that way.
though it looks like the latest generation of nostr has been about gatekeeping. paid relays like primal or FOAF relays like pyramid.
