Yes, running a private node is quite simple, although if you plan making it public, some hardening is advised.
Regarding solo mining, unless you own some serious equipment, I believe it will not sustain a reliable payout frequency. I strongly suggest mining on a pool, especially P2Pool.

More important than design though is the app's trustworthiness. How do you plan of dealing with bots and scammers?
For example, a first time user requesting a ride, and the driver who accepts the ride is actually an Indian using GPS spoofing? It will ruin that users experience with the app and he'll never try it again.
Another example, let's say the payment only happens at the end of the trip, and the rider cancels the trip right at the end? Drivers will get mad and never offer their services again.

The best way is:
1. Mine it on P2Pool, should take a few weeks on a regular PC to get a small amount;
2. Buy it on RetoSwap, use the mined amount to cover deposit of your trade;

I'm vibecoding an app, the backend is written in Rust. And it's great because if it compiles after a code change suggestion, then almost certainly it works. If it doesn't compile, I consider it as Rust's feedback of the LLM (the more compiler errors, the worse is the LLM). Rust compiler errors are quite helpful and often one doesn't even need additional prompts to fix them.

Google's ecosystem is very sticky. I was able to replace everything but Gmail and YouTube.
Email is my priority now, before its too late because of age verification laws. Most suggestions I received were Protonmail, Tutamail and Mailbox.org.
Currently I'm using Tutamail for the secondary email (no-KYC stuff) but still need to find a proper replacement for the main email.

Getting rid of gmail is one of the most difficult but important things one can do for a sovereign digital life. It has been my main email for almost two decades. Most of my logins are associated with it, including many services I don't even remember registering.
Most people suggest simply moving to protonmail but although it may be the easiest path, I don't think that's a true solution for the problem. Proton deletes your account if you don't log in the app or via browser for more than 1 year. Imagine being in a comma or simply having a busy/bad year and bam all you had is lost. Tutamail is even worse, it happens in 6 months. The email provider I used when I started mining Bitcoin in 2009 deleted my email where I stored the wallet seed in 2012, to save less than 100 MB on their server. It would be way better if I had backed up in a CD. Imagine how much important data one can easily lose trusting an email provider with inactivity deletion of one year or less.
The best approach for this problem IMHO is having your own domain, hosting your own email server and regularly backing up in your own physical media. However that's too difficult for the vast majority. And the majority also don't think it's necessary, and don't care about Google asking for ID or facial recognition.

One of the nicest things in #monero imho is that even if you're a broke-ass nigga with a regular laptop, you can still mine and help the network almost the same as a rich dude with the most expensive setup. Broke-ass nigga will hash around 2kH/s while rich rude will hash around 20kH/s. OK, that's one order of magnitude more, but still negligible at the grand scheme of things. Not like #bitcoin that you're completely out of the race with a regular laptop.

Mate 16% yearly interest is not a walk in the park. To get that return one will have to be exposed to risky, unreliable assets. Also you should consider 4-5% inflation silently corroding that amount. After 10 years of 5% inflation, one would need 3250 USD to purchase the same 2000 USD purchased 10 years before. If it was that easy everyone would be selling their homes and living stress free between resorts on pacific islands.

Everything is on the internet now. Whatever service you need, including essential public utilities, it's done online. I had to change the water bill to my name after I moved, they had KYC shit all over the place (selfie with ID, etc). I went to their store to do it the old way (offline) and they lend me a tablet to do the same procedure I was trying to avoid.

The problem with fiat inflation is that you simply can't trust it. Each institution has a different way to calculate it, one will measure certain things but leave other things off the calculation, another one will average things with arbitrary weights, so on. Central banks and governments have interest in manipulating prices in a way that doesn't align with the interest of the people most of the time. For example, they will print money to keep the stock marketing from crashing, but that will make housing unaffordable, or will print money to keep gas prices low but then unexpectedly electricity prices soar.
But the solution for that in a cryptocurrency is not fixing a hard cap on supply as Bitcoin does. Many of those that were early in Bitcoin, for example who mined it before ASICs arrived, lost their wallets. It will happen to many as well, to be victims of floods or hurricanes, and that paper were they wrote the seed phrase will disintegrate. The drive with that txt will fail, that encrypted file will get corrupted, that email will be hacked or deleted due to inactivity. And one of the biggest problems with crypto right now, in my opinion: many will lose their lives without passing the wealth of their whole life to their loved ones.
Lost coins in a hard capped cryptocurrency means it is actually deflationary. We have never lived in a deflationary society. It can be actually way worse than low, controlled inflation. If everyone knows for certain their coins will always be worth more the next day, the incentive is to save the most. They who spend are dumb and will be mocked by holders. Minimum spending means economic activity will slow down, less jobs will be created and people will earn less. That's just something no one want.
Tail emission in Monero is a brilliant way to solve at least part of the problems caused by lost coins. I still want to see how the cryptocurrency community will deal with wills and inheritance, without compromising self-custody.
