I do agree with your point about the tone of the message. It was necessary to stay in that character for that specific message
But, as is the problem online, in text the cues get lost and people don't know each other so there's almost zero context beyond the written word
In hindsight, maybe it was futile and wrong to take this approach of trying to show @npub1wt6…v9rc how his post came across

I made the switch to NAT64-only on the default network of #FOSDEM 13(?) years ago. It broke So. Much. Stuff.
I knew the former maintainer of the network tooling from the Linux Kernel Summit, and ran into him by chance that year. #Ubuntu was completely broken on NAT64-only, it did not even bring up the network interfaces, and we sent people who came to the NOC to their booth.
I also sent that former maintainer over there.
They fixed things very quickly.

A #debian cry for help: I need to update the packaging for #vcsh to modern standards before the freeze hits. It's trivially easy in theory, but I just lack the spoons.
I keep being laughably busy with really meaningful work, but I can't make the time to sit down a few hours and read.
Three major projects will conclude soon, but then it's likely too late.
Any help or co-maintainers appreciated.

yesterday, we had our post mortem meeting. Blown up to seven hours straight, and we only got through everything by aggressively skipping and timeboxing -- after(!) moving half of it to the kick-off... Almost twenty people on site in Brussels with half a dozen more calling in.
There's a LOT of details and discussions to running a successful #FOSDEM

we finished teardown, cleanup, and volunteer dinner at around 21:30, and went for #FOSDEM staff dinner right afterwards. We got to sleep at around 0030.
Today, the trucks will be unloaded, stuff put away, sorted and repackaged.
Two weeks of no FOSDEM anything (hopefully) and then it's back to Brussels for the Post Mortem in two weeks.

Fun fact: The extra time around an event used to be 7 days, and this was distilled pain as I had to chase #FOSDEM #BGP upstreams to update sessions, filters, etc and usually needed to escalate through to last level support
Before automation and the Cloud, a new #BGP announcement took days to weeks by default
So I got the #RIPE policy changed and extended to 1 month :)

Home after another three weeks of living in an #RV and the most magical thing is -- yet again -- #tapwater.
Open the tap, it comes out, is fresh, and can be consumed at will. A slight motion, it comes out warm. Endlessly. And it just goes away again and you don't have to plan your day around getting rid of it. Grey #water, black water, it just disappears.
It's so fundamental, yet most people in first world countries just take it for granted.

#FOSDEM debugging... Part of K lost power. We traced it to one circuit breaker, and kept putting it back in while dividing and conquering towards finding the fault.
As @npub1tx8…x0yc keeps saying, there's an advantage in being tall. Instead of going up and down the ladder all the time, I simply grabbed a broom and kept pushing the lever up again and again and again until we found it. A power strip had developed a short...

#FOSDEM hack. We couldn't refill the hand towel dispensers in the toilets. So the #FreeCAD people designed a key for us, #Prusa people @npub1d4n…dptf #3dprinting it for us, and the cleaning staff could refill everyone's hand towels.
