mhh tbh sounds like a good measure on whom to give a space on my instance. it is extremly small, and i wanna keep it that way. max 5 users, currently 2.
only people who can give me honest feedback, and only people i listen to when they give me very negative and honest feedback.
if u have 10000 people, u get some negative feedback everyday, so u end up dismissing a lot of it very fast.

friend has solved this with "disruptive" alarms.
like u need to solve a math problem to turn it off. or type the name of the alarm.
for waking up they force themself to go to the bathroom and scan the qr code to turn the alarm off

mhh im very much in favor of smol instances, like less than 10 people. but hierarchies can also mean inclusion and social security. if the responsiblity at the top is taken seriously. like admins or a goverment which actually cares about their people, poor or healthy or young or old.
that said afaik p's idea of revolver was an alternative fediverse without servers, every account being an instance. no idea whats the current state of the project though
