So you want to live in a world where the government takes care of your kids instead of you, while using invasive regulation that doesn't need to exist. Got it.
Do you know why nobody questions alcohol/tobacco regulation and kids? Because showing your ID to a shopkeeper doesn't tie your indentity to everything you do online. The shopkeeper won't even remember your identity in a few hours.
Also if you think children cannot buy alcohol and tobacco products, and aren't bypassing the laws, you probably in an alternate universe then.

So, Alex "Glussy" Gleasonator maintains a fedi frontend called Soapbox that was used a lot on here and is the basis for pl-fe (not to be confused with Pleroma-FE)/Nicolium now maintained by mkljczk. That frontend along with Glussy's own Pleroma fork, Rebased, supported quote posts before Pleroma had them and there was a certain CSS compatibility class for them that was later deprecated. @[email protected] wrapped all posts coming from FSE in that compatibility class, which had the effect of all posts coming from FSE to appear as completely empty to all Soapbox users. Now Glussy fucked off to Nostr and this network is unironically better without him and his constant shilling for Nostr.

Everybody is making fun of Claude for failing in funny ways when writing a compiler from scratch in one of the worst languages, yet nobody seems to realize that if you would force senior engineers from a middle-sized software company to write a C compiler written from scratch, the result would probably be similar. Very little people now know how to build a functioning compiler from scratch.

Probably not necessary as I rarely see Postgres connection utilization go above 50% on this instance with the defaults. Could be an avenue to investigate if IO isn't the issue though.

Definitely would recommend if not done already. Here is my Pleroma config for that:

Another useful thing is enabling the "Detailed CPU time" setting in htop under display options. It then also shows iowait in the CPU utilization bar graphs.
Also the absolute classic of Pleroma DB issues is the default Postgres config that has not been [PgTuned](https://docs.pleroma.social/backend/configuration/postgresql/#pgtune). Or too much database bloat which can be seen from the Phoenix dashboard as mentioned. It's under Ecto Stats->Bloat.

They yanked the getgle.org domain after someone reported the favicon for being CP. They also dropped cum.salon for doxing reasons after pernia made the PaulaToThePeople account clone. Other than that, I'm pretty much impartial to Porkbun. In my eyes, they are the Hetzner of domain registrars.

At least they went through the process of actually exploiting the system like you would normally do, instead of getting shell access with the Postscript file, ping a host you own to figure out the origin IP and then throw metasploit at it. The Touhou "mark of exploitation" also doesn't realy add up with the userbase soyjak party has (zoomers).

Some boards allowed posting PDFs, but the backend didn't check, if the file was actually a PDF, so the hacker in their own words uploaded a Postscript file that exploited the ghostscript version from 2012 and that was their entry. Then they misused an suid binary that shouldn't have been an suid binary.

On a similar note, it still sort of holds to this day.
ZFS originally made by Sun and later released under a non-GPL compatible license is still used a lot for archival storage. Its GPL replacement originally made by an Oracle employee is mostly in maintenance mode after Oracle mostly abandoned the project. SUSE still maintains it and uses it as the default filesystem in SLES, but it's still half-developed after years with many pitfalls.
XFS - originally made by SGI, now developed by Red Hat
ext* - possibly the only GPL filesystem that is used a lot outside of specialized needs (inspired by the MINIX filesystem and UFS)
JFFS2 - updated version of a filesystem made by Axis communications
F2FS - developed by Motorola, Samsung, Huawei, Google
All of the examples except one, or maybe two, wouldn't exist without a company developing it for their own commercial needs first.
LVM is the same. If it weren't for Red Hat's use of it everywhere, it definitely wouldn't be as usable as it is today.
