Language people use tells you a lot about them. When people write what public figures have said in speeches, use the term "rant," it positions the writer in certain negative ways to me. I love language. Words are more a window into the soul than the eyes, I think.

This gave me a cut gut-level convulsive gag reflex. I'm a complete pacifist, so this struck me as completely off the mark. Especially when the commenter told the person, "Don't be a moron." What are your thoughts?

I found this quote from Isaac Asimov, of whom I am a huge fan, and wondered what people thought about it. Although I think Asimov has a point, he misses the entire nature of righteousness as a free gift from the Father through Jesus Christ. However, some openly sinning, so-called "men of God", as Asimov says, might be in for a rude shock.

As far as I understand it, the bill changes some of the guarantees made under the Treaty of Waitangi (1840), especially those related to Māori sovereignty. The government would be empowered to act in ways detrimental to Māori when "in the interests of all people". Of course, it's the government that decides what's in the interests of all people. There are a lot of other issues. Just about every committee and tribunal have spoken out against the bill and they are not necessarily Māori.
