my node determines what miners pay themselves. My node tells miners not to pay themselves if they incorporate arb data into their blocks. A fee of "infinity" was just humor for saying that my node rejects miner submitted blocks with transactions containing arb data in the op return over 40 bytes.

Not high value to him. he was not the person wanting the transaction, rather high expense, as he is the one who would do the service of storing the txn on his node forever. From the node runner's perspective, arb. data is infinitely expensive to store and no fee could ever be enough to cover the cost.

Yes i am becoming more and more convinced that halving cycles no longer cause hype waves as newly minted coines are effectively backround noise when compared to trading volume and that in the context of institutions who are permanent holders. I think we may get one more retail fomo peak then an unsteady crash which bottoms much higher than people anticipate and continues to grind up from there. Then the real institutional fomo will kick in and all of the retailers stuck in the halving cycle paradigm will be getting dragged behind as bitcoin realizes its inflection point and the dollar prices grinds up steadily for the nextr 2 decades.

Yes it would but strategy isnt in that much debt. Strf doesnt get repaid. And i think strk is only redeemable for stock. So that leaves only strd to be repaid (i think) and he can sell common stock all the way down to pay much of the claims. But my question was more about if you think bitcoin would perhaps do well as a commodity and as a safe haven asset in cintrast to the equities which would be rugged as described in the book. Thx

I just listened to the book. The same thing occured to me too. But on second thought, do not commodities thrive in deflationary and recessoinary environments? Bitcoin is a commodoty. So maybe as securities assets undergo a liquidation cascade, maybe bitcoin will endure and strategy will not have to liquidate its btc. What do you think about that?

Simple answer: spend bitcoin, replace the bitcoin. Double maxi answer: Borrow fiat against some of your bitcoin, buy more bitcoin with the fiat, spend the bitcoin, pay off the debt with fiat or with bitcoin collateral at a point in time when the dollar price is higher than whwn you opened the loan.
