I guess you answered your own question. Without a ferry schedule and alternative routes, I'd still expect a walking route first.

as mentioned in another thread: I know that ferries can be avoided, but I consider it to be a wrong/confusing default that ferries are even suggested unless I'm using public transport or there is no other route available (e.g. between two islands). Other navigation apps (osmand or gm) better align with these expectations, hence my "bug report".

side note: a very popular competing navigation product does not offer a ferry ride for the same route on foot and shows the expected result.

I'm expecting ferries when selecting public transport. I'm not expecting them when selecting "on foot". Do I need to manually adjust my expectations?
