We recommend the Bitcoin Beach wallet because of the map feature. But if you have a US based cell you can’t download. Otherwise wallet of Satoshi is fine

More on Fedimints and why I think federations are the way to global Bitcoin adoption but it will certainly result in a major clash with tricksters trying to derail those in the BTC/LN ecosystem trying to disrupt the banking system.
Note: We are a Beta site for Fedimint - no conflict of interest
- Traditional banking has existed for hundreds of years with fractional banks coming later and finally central banks.
- In this ecosystem of banking are a myriad of services that banks offer to attract and retain customers. In effect, Banks are custodies of our money and services.
- Only in smaller countries will there be a direct CBDC, the risk for a run on a central bank is too great for that to happen here in the US.
- JP Morgan, Chase, GS, Mellon, BOA WILL NOT GIVE UP THEIR REVENUE OR THEIR CUSTOMERS WITHOUT A FIGHT!
- They only have two choices: Develop their on LN solution or purchase, or acquire current LN start-ups out there. And make no mistake, all of these start ups have EXIT in mind, and that may come in the form of an acquisition - we should be prepared for this and not say they have sold themselves out
- It's highly likely that FEDI will have it's greatest impact at the community bank level/credit union arena first here in the US. Outside the US, especially in Guatemala, there are many small regional banks. There are co-ops which would be their target to "sell" their services to.
- LN wallets are great, but their needs to be more work on providing anciallary services within a community setting. The community setting, in this case, would be a bank's community of users.
- The BIGGEST issue with mass global adoption is custody. Despite what we think as maxis, the vast majority of people aren't going to self custody and a custodial wallet alone has too much risk. So I think the federated model is very appealing.

Random thoughts CBDCs
Why I care: working on the front line of #Bitcoin adoption in Guatemala, financial inclusion and custody solutions are top of mind!
** I'm convinced that the STATE (sans El Salvador) will do its best to KEEP the current banking structure in place even with digital currencies.
** El Salvador had no choice and led by a charismatic and smart leader in an already dollarized economy. This gave them the first-mover advantage and freed them from monetary colonialism of the likes of the IMF and World Bank.
** Other countries (Nigeria) will face real issues moving forward. And there will be many more like them.
++** Jekyll Island 2.0 **++
Given the COMPLEX and intricate nature of the worldwide banking system, it is unlikely that they will EVER want Bitcoin to be the unit of exchange. There are just too many friction points they have control over, and they want to maintain those revenue streams.
I suspect that the Too Big to Fail Banks and the FED, with willing accomplices in the media, will continue to marginalize Bitcoin. I think the final line of offense for them will be custody "issues." This may become the new "They want to take your Medicare away" argument. They will convince people that self-custody is too complicated or goad people into believing that "why risk losing your funds forever?" You can try our custodial solution, XYZ.
We are at the cutting edge of custody solutions being part of a FediMint Beta Launch. And now, I'm even more bullish on what Fedi is trying to accomplish (no conflict).
We can't have a Jekyll Island 2.0 where those with the money want to control it because they see the writing on the wall.
