So about that #FreeBSD SD card reader controller timeout thing I talked about yesterday-ish (https://njump.me/nevent1qqsqqqxj6tn0qnl9qh34tjhw447s3rwusshg9s988yvkywwf3c9xnzcs36ju0); apparently my SD card reader isn't working at all 😑
Maybe someone else that here knows how to fix is, because I've only been able to find old threads online that weren't actually resolved 😔

I've installed the normal Xfce environment and I've already changed the layout to my liking (more Windows 10-esque), but my plans are installing "all" the software I'm used to running (like #Tailscale for example; why isn't that supported natively?!) and switch Xorg for Xlibre, because why not?!

I'm looking for something similar but with NFC for music in house. Imagine this; you're at home and want to listen to some music. Instead of grabbing your phone, you rummage around through a stack or pile of NFC cartridges and scan the one you want. Could also be for an Internet/DAB+/FM/AM Radio station for example!

I'm using the T-1000 rn and it has a battery life of about 2-3 days...
I'll have to look at that Mesh Pocket you are talking about 🤔

But then again I've switched to Linux about 15 years ago, so I'm quite used to it by now ✌️😅
I saw your later comment about "the people" having a 1 year old Windows machine being their main, so that would be an unfair comparison.

Have you considered something like #Bazzite or #Bluefin? Fedora based but with included drivers and codecs. Traditional packaging a little less, but with Flatpaks I don't think you really need that anymore nowadays?

No, he meant that all the data that is currently on your phone will get wiped, after installing GrapheneOS it is like any other Android phone, but without Google. Here's a UnifiedPush alternative that uses Mozilla's push servers instead of Google's: https://f-droid.org/packages/org.unifiedpush.distributor.sunup/
It is something you'll need if you want push notifications (like incoming messages etc) from certain apps without killing your battery life, or at all.

Are you using Ubuntu yourself or something differently? It is always easier to support that you are using yourself.
If that isn't something you want to do (because you might be using something like Arch Linux), then going with something you already have experience is another positive point. At that point I might suggest Debian. Or maybe even better LMDE (Linux Mint Debian Edition).
Linux Mint is also Snaps averse, so I think they'll eventually decide to make the switch from their current Ubuntu base they are currently using, to using Debian.

I deleted my Facebook/Instagram account a few years ago. I have to check if my Weapon X account is still online, but I don't use it at all.
The only social media I actively use are Mastodon/Fediverse and Nostr. And I consume YouTube through PipePipe, so on my own accord.
