Oops, sorry for not being clear enough. I learned about UTXO's some time ago, when someone posted 'consolidare your UTXO's while fees are low' . And I was so confused.
I since went down the rabbit hole.
But I that moment was also the first time I opened mempool.space and for the first time I understood what Blockchain actually meant.
My feedback was trying to say, please keep putting the bitcoin address in there and show people a link to a mempool/blockchain explorer. That has been my biggest tool to study Bitcoin in the past 😊
And that it will motivate other people as well to start digging down that rabbit hole, who haven't done so yet
You did just incentivice me to start writing more, because that's one thing I apparently suck at nowadays! 😅

That's another good one, sharing the addresses. It just so happened that this 8th wallet didn't update the past UTXO's properly (my fault). But I did check addresses and recognised one of them!
Also the ability to check if the sats were still there helped to motivate me to try again after a couple hour break 😅
Even having to look up words on the bip39 word list could lead you down a rabbit hole if you've never heard of a seed phrase before. Depends a bit on the target audience of course, not sure if your audience is people who don't know about self custody. But even checking a bitcoin address on mempool.space is already very interesting if you never did that! (That's actually how I learned about UTXO's!). It took me quite a while to go from self-custody to understanding what a UTXO is for example.
For me, it was just a very exciting treasure hunt. And actually a meaningful prize (I'll share why in a DM if you like 😊). It's weird maybe, but you and uncle will be living in a strangers head for a long time with a warm feeling 🧡

Here is my feedback, I think the level of difficulty was good, I had a lot of fun!
At first I thought you were hiding the words in your questions, so I started writing keywords down that I took away from your questions, until I noticed the 3rd word riddle that was shown on screen. At that point I still thought it could be a mix of both, but started paying attention to the videofeed itself.
Once I figured out where the riddles were, it was not that hard to find all the riddles hidden on screen, by paying attention. You got a 100% watch retention from me, I even sat through the sponsored segment, thinking you'd definitely hide one in there. 😅 (Actually way over 100% because I had to rewatch the first part).
So for watch retention, I think this tactic is quite smart!
The hardest part was actually figuring the riddles out, for the first one I for example figured:
- huge/giant/large/great/immense/vast
Then for every other riddle where you doubt, you start multiplying possibilities.
I tried around 100 combinations, of which around 8 gave me a valid checksum, but were not the right combination. Then I gave up for a while.
In the end it was the riddle about Fashion that was hardest to figure out. I spent way too long trying trend/style/brand.
I did everything by hand though. I know it would be possible to write a simple program that would check all possibilities, but I put in the work. I actually had a lot of fun even though it took me 2 or 3 hours!
Is there a way I can thank you both for the fun challenge and reward? 😊

Great question and some decent answers.
But to answer your question directly:
The trust you put is within the wallet, not the node in your example.
When you create a transaction from a UTXO in one of your addresses (address A) to someone else's address (B), this transaction still needs to be signed before it is valid. The signing of this transaction uses your private key to sign for the specific addresses and amounts.
If anything changes with this transaction, like a different amount, send or receive address, the signature would also look different. And the previous signature does not work, since it is specific on those details.
So the only way to swap around receiver or amounts send, is by knowing your private key. Which is held in your software/hardware wallet.
That's why a trustable/verifiable/reputable wallet is so much more important than your own node, to secure your Bitcoin.
💡 Extra: so why is your own node important?
Freedom. A node is used to relay information, like your signed transaction or the UTXO's you have on your addresses. Running your own node ensures privacy, otherwise you let a service know how much you own. They can censor transactions by not relaying your signed transactions (so they will never be seen by the rest of the network). And they could show you false balances, for whatever reason.
However, running a node ensures the network to stay decentralised, ensures your freedom and your privacy.

No, there is a millibitcoin, 1 bitcoin > 1,000 millibitcoin > 1,000,000 bit
The problems with sats is that it doesn't follow steps in 1000's...
That's the reason things got a bit awkward.
Honestly, I'll get used to whatever is common, sats or bits, it's just like using a different currency when you travel, no big deal after a few days of getting used to it 🙂

We already have a bit, 100 sats is a bit, like cents to a dollar. With 1,000,000 bits in 1 bitcoin.
I like this denomination and it's already established, some wallets give you the option to display in bits.

I'm against shifting as well.
However I would prefer using 'bits' and sats more.
It is intuitive to have
1 BTC =1,000,000 bits
and
1 bit = 100 sats
That way it clicks a lot easier in my head when doing calculations back and forth. The only thing we need is wallets and apps giving the option to show bits... 🪙

A 2-3 multisig needs 3 seeds (private keys), you can reuse the seed you used for singlesig, as one of the 3 seeds.
Your funds are seperate from eachother, because your singlesig generates a different public key (and thus addresses) than your multisig.
As an example, when you have a 2-3, with 3 seeds, A, B, C... You could switch one seed for another: A, B, D.
This now gives a totally different public key and addresses, so basically a different wallet, while A and B are reused. Note that this is just an example, not that it's smart to do this last example 😂

In that case, yes, you can use a singlesig that has utxo's on it as a signer for a multisig.
The reason I said rotate is because your example might've caused confusion or if you have multiple owners (which could be a reason for multisig) and those other owners also know this seed for example.
Just know that you get two different "wallet" instances (public keys)

I don't use BTCPay Server, but generally:
With multisig, the private keys (seeds) from all the signers determine the public key. You ask if you can do that without changing the seed, no because now you have multiple seeds.
You can use the old singlesig seed as one of the signers, but it's better to rotate, and your addresses don't stay the same anyway.
It's hard to answer your question because you say different things, let me know if I can clarify a specific example 🙂
