Happy 420!
The biggest threat to my outdoor guerilla grow is not the police or being discovered by a nosey neighbour... Its slugs!
To combat this I grow the plants tall in my tent, removing side branches to get them long and lanky.
Once I plant them out, I use plastic collars with copper tape as a physical barrier and slug pellets around each plant.

Genetics: Traditional Afghan Domesticate (“Landrace”) 
Sourcing: The Real Seed Company, Balkh Province, Northern Afghanistan, Winter 2018
 Purpose: Charas (sieved resin)
 Latitude: 36° N 
Harvest: October to early December
This Afghan landrace was collected in Tashkurgan, an ancient centre of cannabis culture in Balkh Province, northern Afghanistan. Tashkurgan is a onetime Silk Road emporium that lies to the north of the Hindu Kush. Its other name is Kholm. Farmers here are renowned fo their skill in charas production, and the farmer from who these seeds were obtained is regarded as a master of the art.
The Tashkurgan landrace is best classified together with the Mazar-i-Sharif strain not as Hindu Kush but as ‘Afghan Turkestani’. It shares traits with landraces from the historic Central Asian hashish centres to its north such as Bukhara. But exactly how this Tashkurgan strain relates to the Mazari landrace, which is now cultivated throughout Afghanistan, is not clear. Provisionally it can be regarded as a variation upon that theme. Notably, hashish farmers traditionally leave harvest of this landrace until late, well into senescence, in order to yield the desired character of resin, as is the practice when cultivating the Mazari landrace.
Specific qualities of live plants at the source site in Tashkurgan were noted by the collector, namely intense berry fruit and black currant aromas. These transferred to the sieved resin.
Under native conditions, the typical leaflet width of this Afghan landrace strain tends to the narrower end of the spectrum, but broad leaflets are not unusual. Within landrace populations from the wider Hindu Kush region, leaflet widths range from broad to narrow, as in authentic Chitrali and Mazari strains. CBD and rarer cannabinoids are likely to be exhibited.
For collectors, these seeds are invaluable. They were sourced at some personal risk and with the generous help of Afghans, whose local knowledge was crucial.

First sowing of the season! A little disappointed with my germination rate but some of these seeds have been in the fridge for a while.
I am excited about ErdpurtxFreisland, a Swiss cultivar that should perform well in my humid climate.
These are mostly landraces and I have some Nepali heirlooms going too!
Of course my favourite Serious 6 is also in the mix...

I went to my guerilla garden last night to deliver a rainwater barrel that I hope to fill with winter rains. It was such a still night, with clear skies and a full Moon. Crashing around in the bushes on such a still night was not very subtle so I had to abort! I plan to return when we get a big storm, the wind and rain provides excellent cover. Looking forward to having my own garden one day...

Wet trim the big leaves at harvest and 5-7 days into the dry pluck off any larger leaves that haven't curled around the flowers. I like leafy buds though...

The problem with modern cannabis is the black market and the rec market.
Growers are incentivised to select varieties for yeild and THC % at the expense of everything else. It has resulted in homogenous polyhybrids that have stupifying or anxiety-inducing effects.
I choose cultivars that are either heirlooms or are true F1s. Because these plants have been deliberately selected for their resistance and effects, they typically have a more 'old school' taste and structure and a more pleasant and uplifting effect. Try some.

I used lots of LST and super-cropping to shape this squat plant. I would walk away on hot summers days with my fingers fragrant with sweet Blueberry. It turned grey and disolved in the first rains and humidity of September, rotting inside-out. This plant taught me that weak indoor genetics are a huge waste of time when growing outside.
