Having a convo with two neighbors, one just got 50K US in bitcoin and asked how to store it long-term (that's a win). The 2nd neighbor was 'why keep it in Bitcoin, sell it and get the cash.' SMH, I've tried for YEARS to orange pill the dude, he wouldv'e 5X'd minimum when I started with him (that's a loss).
Now I focus on the high school students and try to get them to understand this is a lifehack, a cheat code of sorts. It's an uphill battle to break the tradfi fiat garbage floating in their heads.

There is truth to this (and I'm not criticizing you in the least, just adding 2 cents to the convo). But if we nit pick all the way to the brass bolts, we would have to build our own operating system from scratch (which is pretty much what Start9 has been doing).
There is always going to be some trust factor involved with Self-Sovereignty. Do you verify every line of code of your open source software you select? More power to you, if you do.
Start9 is fully open-source. Their approved apps on their marketplace are open-source. And they make it easy to maintain a server. Not so much for Umbrel.
Ease of use, and a commitment to open-source, are strong selling points for their version of a pre-built.

I get where you are coming from, but it seems your article's audience is for tech nerds, tech savvy, or devs, who may have already been figuring this stuff out on their own. The whole point of the pre-built is to make it easier to be self-sovereign for those less inclined to want to go the CLI route. Both are valid ways to think about being self-sovereign. I dont see the trap.

Thanks for the ai info this week. Alpaca is exploring ai integration for data insight now.
Christopher brought up the token garbage out there infiltrating ai tools. It showed up in venice.ai with free airdrops and 158% apr for staking. It just doesnt make sense to add that friction, for a pro paid service too.
We'll be looking deeper into openagents.

I mess with it small scale. But the s19jpro goes down regularly and loses income. But the no-kyc btc was a bonus even though it was never a positive ROI. Micro miners like the Apollo and Bitaxe will never have a positive roi, but have a role as a lottery miner, but also as a learning tool.

El Salvador needs investment. Banking, wallets with micro loans, ETF's, VC's, business intermediaries, business consolidators, all these types investors would be welcomed to jumpstart the business growth in this wonderful and ready to go country.
Most businesses are microbusinesses that need microloans to help with cash flow to pay for inventory. A forward thinking business would do well here. Repayment can be daily, thru transactions, through point of sale software, or streaming payments, all are valid. Think outside the box and try it out. These business owners need your business.

I believe there is a path for every socieconomic level to have bitcoin through saving and earning bitcoin (not just buying outright) while spending fiat. There are tools available that need to be promoted to those in harsher economic situations. Education is key.

I got sucked down a NextDoor app thread (the one website I truly despise because of ALL the complaining) when I saw some, ahem, complaining about paying $0.75 in fees for cash back at the self-checkout at Harris Teeter.
There are many thoughts running around in my head on this from it's a private business and it can do what it wants and you can vote with your wallet and go elsewhere (or just not use the service).
But then I saw some other complaints about high costs, and no employees to help bag and tote groceries for older customers.
Both of these symptoms (high prices & no employees) are a direct result of our money crisis (and it is a crisis) - we print so much freaking money and have devalued our purchasing power so much that prices go sky high, wages do not keep up, and a concept called Competency Crisis kicks in (written about by Axel Raven - X:@FinancialPhys ). It's a concept of not allowing people to live a life of quality from their earnings when working jobs that are not considered top tier jobs - the entry level jobs, the dirty jobs. Society needs these jobs filled and in time past, the pay these people received would be enough to allow them to overlook the type of job they are doing as their reward, their pay, would allow them to do other things that might be rewarding to them. Now, these folks doing these jobs are not having the commensurate reward for their work, and may have multiple jobs to keep up, or may just exit the system altogether ala shades of Atlas Shrugged. Why do a job that doesn't add to my quality of life? This is due to the financial debasement occurring breaking down the division of labor, not from companies being greedy, and not paying a 'living wage' to their employees. This topic has come up on several podcasts I've listened to lately including X:@tftc21 as well as the symptoms of the concept talked about but not named directly by X:@nataliebrunell interviewing X:@nikkiglaser . Nikki speaks of young comics today still earning the rate that was earned by comics in the 1980's. Or servers at restaurants having five roommates just to get by on server wages and tips.
I was a server as a young adult - I know how it is. Being broke, couch surfing, hoping your car doesn't breakdown when you can barely afford gas does not need to be a right of passage to adulthood.
The money is broken.
