Of course there are exceptions.
Of course drinking isn’t “healthy.”

I’m not going to push back very hard because I do largely agree with you.
However. There are exceptions. My best friend’s dad lives in Iran. It’s all true. He is extremely thankful that the supreme leader is dead.
We’ll see what happens next. But killing the supreme leader and his buddies is seen as a blessing by nearly all Iranians (per source, obviously I can’t verify).

I started a group text with some of my pledge brothers that are also dads.
Very good friends of mine, but it’s easy to lose touch throughout the years. This has been such a good excuse for us to regularly make contact.
All we do is send pics of our kids to each other and talk about the ridiculous things they do.
Highly recommend. Quite wholesome.

Let’s not forget that the Iranian regime are terrible people.
My best friend’s dad moved back to Iran full time a few years ago. He says the people hate the regime and would want nothing more than for them to be eradicated.
So while I don’t like the idea of foreign intervention, this may be the most acceptable intervention possible.
Where do you draw the line? I have no clue.

Apparently the fast was more difficult than I thought because it was 72 hours, not 36. On day 3 I was getting numbers mixed up the entire time. So there’s at least one observation!

I would be open to doing more 24-48 hour fasts, but I’m not sure of the health benefits. Through my research, seems like ketosis really sets in around the 48-60 hour mark. But is ketosis the only/primary objective? Idk. I really am not that well-versed in any of this.

36 hour fast is wrapping up.
It went well, but I don’t have much interest in doing another. I’m not that hungry, but I truly miss the sensation of eating food. 🤣
Could be convinced with data showing it’s a slam dunk for health reasons, but until then, I’m good with 16:8 intermittent fasting every day.

There are soooooo many things that AI will help with to make it easier to become more sovereign *if you want*.
I think about all the apps on an umbrel or start9 that someone like me with zero technical knowledge could only dream of using before. Now I’ll have the AI to help me set up and monitor things like lightning channels, self hosted home security, e cash, and so much more.
I’m wildly bullish on AI bringing back sovereignty to the common man.

That’s why I don’t love the Whoop. It basically shames you into removing all social or “enjoyable” activity.
While we shouldn’t be doing those activities every night, I think the Whoop now makes it easier to decline friends or otherwise enjoyable activities to preserve a number on a screen.

I got a start9 with a shit ton of memory space and migrated my bitcoin node to it. Now I have an umbrel with nothing on it.

Thinking about my financial goals while I look at a bitcoin price that is 50% off all time highs.
I don’t really have any immediate goals.
The only things I care about are 1) retiring my wife to stay home with my kid (and future kids), and 2) ensuring those future kids have optionality in their lives. Helping them avoid the debt-fueled rat race.
I’m pretty unbothered today. The ego took a shot, but other than that I feel largely numb.

My wife is an ICU nurse. I’m not exaggerating when I say I would bet that no less than 50% of her patients are:
1. So morbidly obese/unhealthy there is zero quality life after hospital.
2. Absolutely mentally fucking insane.
3. The most rude pieces of shit you can possibly imagine (I guess sort of fits in with #2).
Can you imagine how much money we spend as a country keeping these people alive? And for what?
I know this is not very Christ-like of me, and for that I’m truly sorry. But we are a nation teetering on the edge of desperation; financially and spiritually.

Rented houses objectively deteriorate neighborhoods. Renting houses creates artificial scarcity in real estate.

I have hit many road bumps in my node journey. I’m only running umbrel on a Raspi. The Start9 experience sounds much better, although that may not be how you’re feeling so far.

I’m way late here but don’t care.
Different ways bitcoin exchanges are incentivizing users. Fold bitcoin buys go towards cash back limits. River has bitcoin paid on fiat balances. Strike has arguably most interoperability. No fee DCAs.
Each exchange is carving their own niche and winning customers in different ways. Super exciting times.

Gearing up for my small garden again this spring. Year 2 of raised beds. Year 1 went great as a learning experience until deer came by and ate everything in one night.
