Can't wait around for the people to find the protocol useful. There's a 1% retention rate. 1.5m users. Less than 15,000 active. It's dead. You can "protocol" all you want, but unless there's people here to use the protocol, then its useless.

This is awesome! Always looking out for new implementations that I could possibly self-host.
Haven't found my niche yet, unfortunately.
I've been on Fediverse for over a year now and self-host my own personal instance on my domain.
The closest thing to this, that's accessible to others via browser, is Ditto as far as I know.
Ditto is just too new to be worth it for me, sadly. There's features that just don't work correctly or not at all and it's not optimized yet.
I know it's just 1 dev mostly. I've been wanting this type of thing for awhile and with these new implementations, my hopes are high that others might follow suit!🤞

I wish I knew....sorry!
Honestly don't know why so many apps integrate ONLY with Alby. I thought, given that it's integrated into Damus, that it would be able to connect to my original wallet and use that to relay zaps on iOS. However, it can only do that through the extension in the chrome/firefox store, which is only available on windows and android, so I haven't used it.
Really wish apps would integrate LNbits directly as well.

Why does #Amethyst render certain things in notes that other clients don't?
For example, if I paste a note ID here, it will just show plain text on Damus, Primal, etc. But amethyst would render it as a quote post.🤔
This also happens with media. I host images on cloudflare and the links don't end with a file extension. If I paste the link in a note, it shows as a plain text link on Damus, Primalc etc., But Amethyst renders the photo.

I've tried all my favorite apps and Amethyst is the only one it shows in correctly. Damus shows it via link preview. Nostrudel and Primal just show the link.😩🤷‍♂️

Hmm...I paid for the plan and have images there, but there doesn't seem to be a way to use my own domain with them and when I paste the URL of the image to Nostrudel, the post preview (before I post) just shows the link, but when Ive done images from elsewhere, the preview shows the image...🤔😬

I wonder how hard it would be for a programmer to fork Immich.app and add Nostr/NIP-05 compatibility...🤔
I want to host my own media for Nostr, but my knowledge of Linux isn't the best. I can follow very detailed instructions with commands and such.
The only way I've been able to do it recently, is through my backblaze object storage. The issue I have with that, is the usability on multiple platforms. It is VERY janky on mobile and doesn't allow me to easily copy the link after it's uploaded.
I know I can literally host media anywhere and it's pretty trivial. However, I really want to be in control of my own stuff.

The easiest (but probably not the best) way would be to install Primal on your mobile device and get a wallet through there. They charge a bit extra for SATs though because they have to make money on the transaction.🤷‍♂️

Too new. When it has more features, I'd be willing to give it another try. Right now, it's basically a Mastodon app but a very minimalistic one. The features for Nostr mimic that experience.

If you're on Android, I would recommend Amethyst over primal because primal doesn't update as often so the features are a little lacking. 🤷‍♂️ I use it on Android because I have a wallet hosted on it and it's easier for me to zap people that way. Otherwise, I use amethyst on Android.

It is pretty awesome. Though, the dev doesn't really care about what users think unfortunately. There was a "view count" feature that I liked and he said it was going away so I expressed my disappointment and he said "a lot of people liked it, but I think it's time for it to go". Ah, I see. I do think Nostr is doing it the right way for the most part when it comes to that.
Though, the issue for me, besides the low user count, is that there's only 1 way that I know of right now to have my own "site" on Nostr without having any programming knowledge. That's ditto and unfortunately due to the fact that ditto is so new, a lot of things don't work or are very buggy.
When I can be myself and promote my own stuff, it'll be better for me. But as of right now, I have very little reason to be here.

Yeah...the issue is the sustainability of Nostr and the actual user base. If there were more than a 1% user retention, maybe I'd be here more. However, when there's 1.5 million users and only 15k active, it leaves a lot to be desired. I've literally been trying to give away money and nobody is engaging with the post...🤦‍♂️

I don't clout chase, but I'm not trying to impress anyone either way. I follow almost 700 of those people and interact with dozens daily and the ones I interact with are usually always different. The point is all about interacting with other people.
