How about some terrible cheap aliexpress film dragged through a terrible ‘underwater’ point and shoot camera, developed in coffee? The film is ecn2 with the horrible remjet layer so doesn’t work in standard chemicals. But there’s something in the caffenol that’s angry enough to mostly deal with it. Will see if there’s anything worth scanning once it’s dry in the morning :D

I was just having a conversation with somebody and she said that she's started watching a bit of regular TV, because she's missed having regular ads. Everything online is hyper-targeted and that's fine to a point. But it turns out that ads aren't just about selling a specific product or service to a specific person. They're a cultural phenomenon too. Or were? Something in common to have smalltalk about. She barely even remembered Easter is coming without the ad reminders. 🤷

Any UK folk have any recommendations for places to order pet supplies from that you have had a positive personal experience with? I have had way too many problems with Pets at Home that it's time to try somewhere new. The local shops can't get in the food or litter that my old-man cat wants. Would rather avoid Amazon. #BadScan update!
The black ink in my Colour StyleWriter 2500 seems to be working properly again. The other colours are questionable, but black is going strong. So if you print your image in B&W to Stylin’ in my #GlobalTalk zone, it should all come out fine.
Then I can scan your image in either glorious 1-bit or luxurious 5-bit greyscale with my Macintosh 512 and ImageWriter II, and save it either to my server or send it directly to yours over GlobalTalk!

And if you want energy rip-offs, Orkney generates more cheap renewable wind, solar and wave electricity than we can use and more than the cables will let us export to the rest of the country. Yet we pay some of the highest electricity rates in the country, because the government pegs it all to the price of gas. And we don't even have gas for cheaper heating, it's all electric or oil.

A bloated two-and-a-half gigglebyte program and it can't even handle something basic like text direction. And doesn’t give you an error or a warning or anything. Just mangles the letters into the wrong order. Argh.

I just had to... remove Indesign and reinstall a different version... because even in the modern day... it can't... deal with right-to-left scripts… even though… it lets you set the language to Arabic... it still mangles the text... until you... install... a different version…

ps: I am 0% a discord fan. It seems to take the worst elements of irc, forums, skype, and who knows what else, and combines them into an impenetrable interface as part of a baffling service. Nothing about it makes sense. If forcing the world into having their ID stolen is a way to get folk to move away from it then I'm 100% here for that.
