At @nprofile…rt80 on Saturday our very own @nprofile…pa98 sat on a panel of experts (as the lone non-technical voice!) discussing The Future of Layer 2.
What did she say? Well, we - literally all humans, even the ones who don’t realise it yet - need Layer 2 to succeed.
Lightning can’t handle hyperbitcoinisation. But maybe Ark can, it is arguably better positioned for it.
So for people who are designing freedom tech and for those of us who are helping them build it this becomes important.
Even though its impact is still unfolding, Ark might emerge as an important enabler for the development and hopefully inevitable adoption of open-source projects that challenge the centralised ecosystem. We're super happy to have engaged a client recently who is committed to contributing to the space, as well as building their own product.
Noticing that many NIP-05 domains have malformed JSON, we were commissioned to build a couple of tools that will both validate a NIP05 domain and perform a lookup on a NIP-05 address.
You can install with `npm i -g @nostrbox/cli`
And run the commands:
- nip05lookup [email protected]
- nip05check nostrdev.com
(we'll leave the errors in for now, so you can see the results)

We're only active on Nostr, Matrix, and Simplex
We also had a long quiet build period to get a stable version out
We got refused funding twice, so it's completely bootstrapped and VC-free
Shout out to @nprofile…fcea who offered us a small amount at the start (~ 2 days of dev) - although we weren't able to accept, at the time.
SIGit has absorbed around 1,800 hours
Some of that was mistakes, more was lost due to tools (we made several PRs to ndk and other places)
we learned a lot along the way. It's not finished yet but it is ready to use and we are actively seeking feedback

If you use a provisioning system, such as start 9 or cloudron, yes - very easy
If you would attempt a manual install, it would appear (given @nprofile…xnfk experience) not straightforward
which is unsurprising given that matrix is an Enterprise solution, and this software category is rarely easy to self deploy (due to the wide range of server topologies it needs to support)
