See it as an opportunity to train your empathy for users who don't know.
I have worked with helping users for the regional government (60k+ employed) for 9y now, and so many use computers - even those who are provided with a personal one - as they come preconfigured from IT.
It's like they have no idea that settings exists. Nor that just a few super easy settings can make their UX dramatically better.
I got humbled quick about that, when starting nine years ago.

If Split View UX-improves like Tab Groups did, from when I about:config turned them on, then I'm not worried at all.
Only thing I really miss in Tab Groups is the ability to copy and paste, and it then also be possible to do to/from other browsers like LibreWolf.

Played a bit with it, and it is almost usable. If the tab I right-klick and do "Add Split View" would open in the split, it would be useful already.
It don't, it just creates a new tab.
Now I dream of it ready and with a shortcut open https://fosstodon.org/publish in a 1/3 split on the right. Or other common web apps to make notes or other relevant stuff from the page I'm on.
That would make a sweet UX in my book.

There is the variable that I am within the EU, so could be GDPR and other safeguards we have play a role.
And that me being stubborn and for years manually made sure cookie settings, and account settings, for anything tracking, ads and other crap are rejected.
Quite a few apps/sajt don't show me adds just from that, their own settings. Which makes it paradoxically funny when they then ask me to turn of ad blocking 🤣

What are you watching on?
I mainly watch using Google Streamer, Chromecast before. For some reason on them ads are shown rarer. Plus I reject all tracking cookies in the air there too.

I'm very happy now 🥰
On Win 10/11 I could never get #SettlersIV running properly. In particular the little guys, the settlers, would not show, rendering the game unplayable.
But using #HeroicGames in :bazzite: I only had to login to my #GOG account, click install and then launch. Nothing more. No weird tricks or settings.
It just started playing perfectly 🥳
I'm mentally back in front of the :amiga: A2000 30+ years ago, where I spent so many hours playing this game.
I'm very happy now 🥰

:zorin: installed on #mindy and thus far I am very pleased with both look and feel on this #AcerSwift3 with #Ryzen4700u laptop.
Only thing I couldn't quickly sort out is the Fingerprint Password Settings app in the #zorinOS repo.
Other than that I have no problem seeing why it has become a popular choice for those with #Win10 that Microsoft gave a 🖕 to about upgrading to #Win11.

You got it exactly right. It is understandable bokeh is a bit of a blurry 😆 mystery since mobile phones and action cameras are really crap on it.
Check out https://pixelfed.global/tsvenson where I went on a bit of a bokeh spree a few months ago with my Sony Alpha 6400 and good lenses.

It will be strange when I'm in 12 days end a 1,116 days long streak using #Duolingo daily learning 🇪🇸
That is more than three (3) years of daily routine, 30-60 minutes every day, ending!

I got an UPS for my homelab center where the NAS, HA Yellow and Router/WiFi is, soon also a Proxmox server and more.

This is smart, so many can and will have done it as and when v4.5 is upgraded to on their instance.

Every #chat app, and more, should have a setting for "Send on Enter" #YesNo
Even better if there is a system setting for this behaviour. That apps can follow like is done for dark/light theme.
And, of course, accompanied with a visual clue showiing what the input-field uses.
There is so much #UX improvements to gain if more input settings and behaviours could be sett om system level, overrideable locally if needed of course.

I have had my own companies, selling hardware and software. Been employed by a startup dotcom company through that bubble burst. I have lived in three countries and thus experienced different digital societal systems.

What got me to post this thread was watching his "I'm DONE with Google" video: https://youtu.be/u_Lxkt50xOg
In there he goes over the whole crazy journey to do that, all the #FOSS he replaced :omya_google: services with.
Including how he turned his #SteamDeck into his #HomeLab server, while still can be gamed on.
Never did I ever think I would become a #PewDiePie fan, but here I now am one.

That was actually the first time I watched anything from my fellow Swede PewDiePie. So I was still a little skeptic.
But then, when Prime followed up with https://youtu.be/KqPmH0Qsfns - where Felix built his own Tamagotchi, it became real.
He is a proper maker, and the enthusiasm he shows for learning and doing with #FOSS stuff is genuine.
And I really liked how well he described the learning challenges, the pain often needed to get even simple things working.
It gave me too more positive energy.

The fabled Year of Linux :linux: is getting a lot closer.
Not because Microsoft's reqs for W11 disqualifies hundreds of millions PCs from upgrading. It will help, but not as much as many hopes.
- What will really make it stick is when more of this happens:
Recently #PewDiePie stunned https://youtu.be/IY-RoiVLExs #ThePrimeagen so much that he he went full-on :archlinux: with #Hyprland and he loves it.
The energy and enthusiasm that Pew shows is what will make the real thing happen.

Tabgroups, turbocharged with colors, have been a proper 10x improvement of workflow and efficiency. It is what really made vertical tabs come to life.
I probably have several hundreds of tabs open in them, but doesn't even come close to how annoying 10+ horizontal was to manage.
