Have you tried Sublime? It’s def available for Linux, has a stack of plugins, and I’ve been using it for years against other editors and it’s really, really fast.

The servers don’t need the limit. The clients do. An option in each client to truncate large posts with ellipses based on a configurable max char limit would be great. Right now mastodon.social’s 500 char limit is fucking killing me.

@npub18gj…2gs5 the last streaming device photo was a bit of a mess so here’s a bit more detail. Firesticks, chromecasts, Onn boxes and an AppleTv4k. Favourite is the $49 Walmart Onn 4K pro. So much so that I’m going to be selling off four or five Firesticks and replacing the tech here with Onns. They are superb and cheap as piss for what you get - even has a backlit remote with “find my” beep functionality.

I have a TPlink AX73 and love it (after like 5 different ASUS routers over the years). Firmware is great, even if it doesn't have OpenWRT or DDWRT (yet?) I'd be doing deco if I meshed but I really don't need it right now, house ain't that big. The new router is Linksys though. There's no way I'll use it without at least the ability to assign static IPs. I'll check back in once there's a decent, OFFICIAL firmware available for it.
Other problem with this Linksys is that ...1/2

I gave it all of 30 mins before I packed it back in its box. The stock fw is HORRIBLE. Like fucking abysmal. Doesn’t even have an option for DHCP server. I did see node related stuff and I have read it’s meshable and I HAVE read that people have installed OpenWRT on it but I don’t understand because doing a search says that OpenWRT doesn’t actually exist for it! Maybe there’s some hacked version? I didn’t have time to stuff around. When OpenWRT is *officially* available I’ll be back.

#Linksys LN1301 #router arrived. Damn thing looks like a stack of monkeys need to be dancing around it waving leg bones while Kubrick holds down six keys simultaneously on a pipe organ. About to hook it up and get #OpenWRT going on it. Commercial-grade wifi6 router: $16 from Woot. Meshable too apparently. Damn good deal.

Obsidian absolutely is not the right place for reminders/notifications. And in fact, tasks - despite the Tasks plugin being really neat. There *is* a reminder plugin - https://github.com/uphy/obsidian-reminder - but it only fires when the app is actually running.
You’re better off using an app actually designed for todos and reminders/notifications, like #TickTick.

Here’s what the Zero looks like. Pushpin for scale. I still don’t know why I can’t connect it to my 5ghz wifi - the board supports it - but that’s a problem for another day.
Edit: I was an early purchaser, back when there were no cases at all for it. This is a badly fitting, but adequate, #RaspberryPiZeroW “case”.
