I see a sudden spike in op-return usage. Yes.
Not a coincident. No.
Obviously it is the effect of one dev proofing that filters don't work. ;) That was never a working filter or limit. It was something any node-user can set as liked. Freedom.
I see you coffee machine example as showing the real problem here. You do not decide what is happening to this machine. No one is. It is not your coffeemachine and (very important:) it never stopped giving you your perfect coffee even some other users suddenly want to get a watery brown slop from it. Fees spike shortly and then you and me price this brown-waters-freaks out.

‚No it isn‘t?‘ Explain please. I do not see where I proved your point. We are talking about BIP110 and even that weirdo-bip changes it‘s reasoning weekly it is about spam/arbitary data.

This debate is about spam and that a specific group of ppl wants to control what is allowed to transact and get into a block.
I get the feeling you would not be able to identify a bad actor even if he would blatantly tell you ‚we need to act now - think of the children’ or bitcoin is goin to die if you not follow his lead and change the code or call the FBI on you cause he lost his bitcoin due to his own stupidity.
After 4 years you should have learned that if one can stop a bitcoin transaction it is not bitcoin anymore. It is the start of fed-coin.

IBD is up to 25-40 % faster now. You should really try it in Oct with Core 32 ;)
A node costs nothing. Bitcoin core (or for you: Knots) is free. No idea what you are talking about here... Old notebook does the job well. You can even prune.
We have a block size limit. And fees. BTW: The lowest fees ever.
I fell for nothing. Nothing even changed for me. You are falling for the bullshits of Luke, Kratter, Mechanic and Guida ("We need to change bitcoin now or it will die!!!!"). It is easy: You want to change bitcoin and so you will have to fork off.
Sadly I will call you nothing as we will not see anymore. You will be on that BIP110 chain and BIP110-coin-conferences I guess.
If it really activates without chain split, which is highly unlikely, nothing changes too... Inscription fans and devs will just find other ways. You know why? Because they know all the Bitcoin ins and outs much better than any BIP110 promoter. One could even say they understand Bitcoin much better than any purist.
I watched and read so many BIP110 stuff and it is really embarrassing. Most of them even say themself: "I don't understand how it works but I want it to only be money"!
I’ve been there... and I learned how it works. There is no perfect way to prevent spam on Bitcoin. The blocksize limit and fees are there for exactly that reason. They work well. They strike a reeeally good balance between free, uncensorable money transactions and limiting DDoS/spam attacks.
