I do not know how to access the black/grey markets but i have not put in any research yet - luckily i left europe long ago.

yea you got me, imo custodial lightning is already a shitcoin - it is basically paypal. cashu is like paypal vouchers then ;)
afaik there is also no peg to bitcoin in a mint, in general a mint can issue as much as they want - same with a custodial lightning wallet provider - they can display whatever they want in your wallet.

Thank you, but my point is: why is cashu considered "bitcoin" when it has all properties of a shitcoin? It is not bitcoin, you need to swap into it - like with every other shitcoin, it is not linked to any BTC, it is non custodial (which is completely against any bitcoin ethos), you have the mint rug risk etc.
Monero and every other shitcoin is also denominated in BTC, when you look at the Shitcoin/BTC chart.
For me it is just unfathomable that custodial long strings of text are considered "on a bitcoin standard" - it is like writing "i owe you 1000 sats" on a piece of paper and calling that a bitcoin scaling solution ;)

thing is with monero i would not need cashu in the first place.
monero is privte, has much bigger adoption, i can hold it self custodially, there is no mint rugging risk etc.
i really do not understand how people can be pro-cashu ecash and against shitcoins -
cashu is not bitcoin as monero is not bitcoin.

There is something magic in writing your thoughts and goals on paper, true.
In my strong building phase, i wrote down everything in a notebook, (cheap paper and pen though) - the main goal on the first page so i have to see it every day - and eventually reached or overreached almost all of them.
Also pinning paper notes on the wall behind your computer is a simple but incredibly powerful tool.

In the last 3 months i used Venice.ai a lot - and what did i do with it?
- replaced all chrome/brave extensions with own, custom versions (no spyware anymore)
- created a extension which analyzes the images of properties on booking / airbnb so i can say: "i want an apartment with 2 desks in separate rooms, a bathtub and a nespresso machine" and it gives me only properties which match that.
- created a extension which maps proeprties of a crappy paraguayan real estate website on a map for better research.
- created an extension which filters all posts on x with ai and removes everything i dont want to see (war, gossip, time waster content) and it limits my time on X each day to 30min
- re built an amiga game (cannon fodder) with three.js (50% done)
- configured and fixed a ton of probs on my vps
- built an multi ai voice chat app so i can have voice conversations with any model and save the conversations to continue later
- built an android app which limits my phone screen time and i can extend time / unlock the phone by doing push ups, sit ups or squats (in frontn of the camera, it counts the repetitions)
and played with short videos with Sora, analyzed documents etc.
And i paid nothing for the compute as i had $diem staked.
Venice.ai is the most exciting project at the moment for me. The only thing missing is Monero support. :)

I do not criticize the people who built Bitcoin Jungle, they are awesome and they did a fantastic job with adoption in CR. Huge respect!
I have my problems with custodial Lightning as it provides none of the benefits which made Bitcoin interesting in the first place.
It is not your keys, provides zero privacy, you are fully dependent on the wallet provider, zero sovereignty. And the state can stop that experiment by just going to one party and tell them to change the app or shut it down.
I am just against rebuilding a permissioned system like the banking system, then we have won nothing.

yea they do. with medium size amounts mostly they end up being around 0.5% of the transferred value, can be a lot higher though depending on the channels to the recipient

And still - the state knows the addresses of 99% of Bitcoiners. And as most states will run low on money - they know where to get it. Apart from that, Lightning sucks if used self custodially. So everyone uses custodial wallets - and the providers will bend the knee to the state.
