Totally agree! The approach here, feels far better than that of the legacy social media platforms. I mean, it was created in response to the failures of the likes of Twitter after all!

This is part sub-toot, part observation and part my own experience...
I've found Mastodon to be a really vibrant, exciting, engaging, diverse and inspirational platform. BUT, if a person doesn't interact with others on here, they will miss out on a lot!
It's definitely the best platform I've been a part of, because of the people here, the tools available, and the structure of the fediverse as a whole.
But... you DO need to engage to get the best experience.

I use Ivory on iOS/MacOS, and really struggle with search. I have much better results with Mastodon running in a browser when actually searching for something, so your guide will definitely be a huge help!
