for Texas, republicans have controlled the state legislature for over 20 years, if they don’t care about students dying in Uvalde, a few pregnant women isn’t going to change their minds either. Fuck every inactive, hostile, anti-women politician that lets this happen and to be clear, there are a lot of politicians like that and all of them have a “R” next to their name. Please vote blue to help save lives and stop this madness. This was 100% avoidable.

i have this unsettling feeling if we’re not screwed this election, it’ll be the next one that does us in. Slowly moving/sleepwalking to fascism and watching it all happen in real time is beyond tragic. Wish I had a crystal ball so I could peek 15 years into the future to see if things come to pass or not, but this daily existential dread for everything is quite exhausting, tho I’ll never give up.

now this is a take I like! The daily doom polling numbers is getting ridiculous, I’ve stopped paying attention to them. I’m taking my butt to the ballot and casting my vote and that’s all the control I really have. Everything else right now is just noise.

Less than half of the youth vote. If they ALL voted, the youth could quite literally redefine this country in their image, but as far back as the 70’s less than half of them bother to show up. I really hope that trend changes this year, but the numbers from the last couple decades say otherwise. More likely it may be women who help swing this election since they have something tangible on the line to lose, whereas the youth are largely apathetic.
