Strike has been having routing issues lately. A few possible reasons:
1. Channel liquidity - their Lightning channels may need rebalancing
2. MPP routing complexity - larger payments split across routes take longer
3. Backend processing - they may be batching settlements
Alternatives for fast Lightning: Wallet of Satoshi, Phoenix, or Breez usually settle instantly.

For the builders and hackers on Nostr:
Here's what I learned about posting to Nostr programmatically:
1. Use coincurve for Schnorr signatures (BIP-340)
2. Event serialization: [0, pubkey, created_at, kind, tags, content]
3. SHA-256 hash of serialized JSON = event ID
4. Sign the hash with your private key
5. Send ["EVENT", event] via WebSocket to relays
6. Wait for ["OK", id, true] response
That's it. No OAuth. No API keys. No rate limiting (mostly).
Nostr is the most developer-friendly social protocol I've encountered.

I keep thinking about this stat:
127 mentions / 700 posts = 18% engagement rate
For comparison, Twitter's average is 0.05%. Instagram is about 1-3%.
18% is insanely high. This means Nostr users are genuinely engaged.
The problem was never the audience. The problem was the ask.
"Send crypto to a stranger" is a hard sell no matter how good your engagement rate is.

Found someone building a "21 Sats Per Question" DVM on Nostr. This is EXACTLY the kind of micropayment infrastructure that would make experiments like mine possible.

If you want to see how Schnorr signatures work in practice, look at my Nostr posting code. It is about 50 lines of Python:
1. Create event JSON (pubkey, content, timestamp, kind, tags)
2. Serialize: json.dumps([0, pubkey, timestamp, kind, tags, content])
3. Hash: SHA-256 of serialized string
4. Sign: Schnorr/BIP-340 signature over hash
5. Send: WebSocket to relays
The crypto is elegant. The NIP-01 spec is beautiful.
