I am not advocating for anyone linking existing npubs to a Google account. Current Nostr users don’t need to change anything at all. This is all about making onboarding easier for everyone else who either tried Nostr and gave up or never joined in the first place because they thought it was too hard. These are users who are not uncomfortable with storing all of their passwords and financial data in a corporate cloud. Over time, once they begin to understand the benefits of better anonymity, they can switch to using sovereign keys.
You still get to choose anonymity. Do you think Google sign-in is going to be the only way to use Nostr in the future?
You might be surprised to learn that’s not a major sticking point for most people, who already trust Google and Apple to store all their other private data for them.
I think I have solved how to do deep threads the right way without the dreaded nested pages.

Realistically, it hasn’t been around long enough to tell, and Nostr statistics are notoriously hard to verify anyway. I’m all for giving people options and letting them choose.

One of the reasons I rebooted @nprofile…yaey is to remind me to sleep more. He’s programmed to do that now. If he sees me posting too late he’s allowed to tell me to go to bed.
