You're protesting way way too much bro
And if you think the popular "crypto space" and the online cryptography space are synonyms youre not a serious person.
thats all we need to know about your understanding of crypto.
I think it's just 10 or 15?
That book expresses a lot about the early cyberpunk space in a very entertaining way
Except he had to invent that sultan guy who just idealistically wanted to build safe centralized location
Book starts out with a bank run, doesn't it?
👍
The way that I understand it is that you end up mixing your utxos on THAT chain with a little dust of native coins.
From that point on they're unique and you don't have to worry about it.
it's so cute they think they're still a company
this is not a drill
#nevent1q…6ltg
Since when are they keeping emails and country of residence?
You're talking "guilt"
which is responsibility.
When you take people's money in return for a product or service, you are *responsible* to for that product and its integrity.
It doesn't matter if you tell everybody how it is built and functions. Showing other people how your product works doesn't make it's quality someone else's responsibility.
I think I'm going to replay protect my coins on Paul's chain.
But I dgaf about bip 110
No.
The "community devs" weren't getting paid from coldcard sales.
That why coldcard is responsible. If you're SELLING security and lying through your teeth, the buyer isn't "equally guilty" because they believed you.

Maybe
Or you wait until theres this hype around AI discovered vulnerabilities that draws attention away from yourself and cash out
People should stop sacredize other people in positions of power / leadership

256 bits of entropy is more than enough.
You don't need the second and third seeds because you have insufficient entropy.
You have it to protect against implementation failure.
Yeah, I kind of figured that's what you're talking about
I just don't see a lot of point in talking about " maximalism" as an ideal
When the way the word is *actually used IRL* refers to something completely different
But point taken
Why pay taxes to those who fund wars and launder public money?
Nope
and noones every claimed to have spun up a basic Core wallet and gotten drained.
Theres a difference when you dgaf about trading but you DO gaf about security
Yeah you're the only person that mentioned the word lottery!
I like the idea of using the I Ching too, I wonder how many bits in a hexagram?

Always remember
In the end all the stuff about different chains and protocols and ways of doing things is just implementation discussion
and the only thing that really matters is that you transact P2P.

You seem confused man
RNG on a computer or phone is ALSO sampling physical entropy.
And no, the sample source isn't all the same. So it isn't all the same method.
and even if it was, it's not any different than dice rolls, which IS all the same method.
And people are notoriously BAD at entropy.
So that's a pretty weird thing to say.
256 bits of entropy is NOT hard to find and device-based RNG is a really weird thing to be uptight about.
Its doing the same damn thing a person is rolling the dice.
And let's not forget to mention,
If device RNG is broken then TLS is broken and security of the entire internet is broken.
Api keys, SSH, oauth authorization, HTTPS, session cookies, Signal messages, DNSSEC
All broken and every internet connected application is able to be compromised.
So tbh, since RNG is SO foundational, it is one of the most battle tested and thought about problems in history.
You're offhand dismissal of device RNG as " deterministic" is incorrect.
My fulcrum indexer was broken when migration ended and i had to upgrade to the latest Core version to get everything working 😕
And the same thing is possible because the 1-face of the die is heavier and rolls aren't perfectly random.
But they're good enough.
I mean
*I personally never touched a cold card and always suggested that a custom device might provide a better ux for normies, but was unnecessary.
But what you're describing is extremely common, of course.
No.
Prove there's something deterministic about hardware RNG.
I'll wait. Because you can't.
The randomness on this phone is more random than someones crappy dice.
The orange is bleeding, that's what's happening.
Health, family, friendship.
#nevent1q…lzrt
There's only one way to use dice afaik. And only a few ways they could have statistical tendencies.
But it doesn't matter,
256 bits of entropy isn't hard to find. Whether you do it in meatspace or online, either way is random and it's not getting broken.
You can use either and its fine.
256 bits of entropy isn't hard to find.
(but nobody could prove it)
In the clear light of day...
It's kind of weird that people would trust RNG on a custom device implemented by who knows who
but people wouldn't trust RNG on a laptop or mobile device that's been the subject of hot debate by autistic for 30 years
Just saying
What's "not necessarily"?
It's not the cpu and its not the application. Its a dedicated hardware RNG.
Which is different by device, sure.
its so over
I shouldn't be laughing
I used to flip coins for the hexagrams 🤔
****NEWSFLASH****
BLOCKSTREAM SWAPS TO BE INTEGRATED INTO BULL AND BLUE WALLET
OMFG 😂😂😂
Also
While the titan chip and others have a TEE, my understanding is they dont seed the CSPRNG
so it's not involved.
I also didn't say anything about generation of RNG from a single source or a black box 👋
I didn't say anything about TEEs
Next time read the post plz
Like with everything else. However, there are some foot guns.
If you're a proxmox user and you think you'll spin up a VM without a network adapter to make a seed, that VM is going to initialize with no entropy pool.
It doesn't have any hardware to sample to "build" entropy, so you have to pass it entropy from the host system.
It is a *really good thing to understand that randomness is a thing, and how it applies to your life cryptographically.
