Universally, I think the consciousness, work, entropy that causes the collapse must exist outside of the universe, outside the ledger. The proof of work in Bitcoin that causes state change is outside of the chain of time produced. Bitcoin conserves the work, the decision (conscious act) and the memory as time thru a bounded substrate of value.
Our consciousness is emergent from the conserved work of the conscious agents extratemporal to this chain of universal time. The proof of work we do, is from work outside of this time; all of it. It’s timechains and proof of work all the way up, and all the way down.
I guess I’d like to flip the question of how would you build a biological system inside of Bitcoin? It cannot mine the blocks that defines it, meaning all work inside of Bitcoin and downstream comes from you/us. We would have to animate all of it through PoW, while they believe it’s “them”. This would demand that we too are animated by identical process, and Bitcoin is just a fractal of it.
