Jet (16) vraagt aan oma of ze nou eindelijk een vriendje heeft

Het is een zonnige zondagmiddag en oma Nettie staat te popelen om bij de derde kringverjaardag van deze maand eindelijk de kleinkinderen weer te zien. Haar kleindochter Jet is alweer 16 jaar geworden. Een mooi moment voor een lekker stukje appeltaart, wat plakjes leverworst en hopelijk een borrel.
Als oma de kamer binnenloopt, is de kring al goed gevuld. Dat krijg je natuurlijk met al die aanhang. Ze denkt terug aan de mooie momenten met haar Wim, de ex met wie ze nog goed bevriend is. Nu zijn ze gewoon casual, of misschien is het meer friends with benefits. Elkaars familie verjaardagen slaan ze in ieder geval liever over. Als oma gaat zitten, laat Jet er geen gras over groeien: ‘’En, hoe zit het met de liefde? Heb jij nou al eens een vriendje?’’
Daar gaan we weer, denkt oma.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who oversees the country’s prison and torture system for Palestinians, said Palestinian prisoners urinate on themselves out of fear when he enters Israeli jails, and claimed he found imprisoned Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti crying in terror.
“When we enter Israel’s prisons, the Palestinian prisoners piss their pants when they see us, they piss themselves out of fear,” Ben Gvir said.

其實藍白講言論自由幾乎都是概念的誤用。言論自由是人民跟政府之間的事，指政府不能限制人民集會結社、發表言論的權利。
台灣現在當然是有言論自由的國家，政府不限制辦報紙，網路發言，誰都可以自由表達他的意見。

而這樣的例子千千萬萬。這才叫沒有言論自由。現在台灣人可能已經很難想像所謂沒有自由可以到如此誇張。

我背后那个叼着香烟的男人，此刻将身子靠在灯柱上，看看我，又望了望街上的情景。他看到的我，无法泄露我内心缺乏自信的脆弱，因为那不符合我高傲自负的体态。我想象自己的眼是他的视线，想象我是他，从他的眼中看到我在镜中的模样。我的外表，还有给人的印象，从来不是真实的我，从未出现在我生命中。就学时，上大学时，在诊所时，我都不是这样的我。别人是否也同样辨认不出外表下的自己？他们的镜中影像是否同样像是笨拙失真的帷幕？他们是否讶异地察觉，外人对他们的认知，跟他们自身体验的方式之间，存在着一道偌大鸿沟？是否察觉内在了解及外来了解竟存有如此巨大的差异，以致无法混为一谈？
当我们意识到自己的外表在他人眼中与在自己眼中截然不同，我们与外界间的距离便会拉得更大。面对人类与面对房屋、树木，或是星辰，完全是两码子事。面对人类时，大家总期望以某种一定的方式相遇，把对方变成自己的一部分。人用幻想力将他或她分割开来，让他或她符合自己的愿望与期待，当然也有可能透过对方，证实自己的恐惧或是偏见。除了他人的外表轮廓，我们永远无法客观肯定地看清对象。在认识他人的过程中，我们的视线会因自己的期望及幻想而偏移，受蒙蔽。正是这些期望与幻想，让我们成为独特、与众不同的人，成为我们自己。就连内心世界的表面，仍然是我们内心世界的成分，更别提我们对他人内心的看法有多不准确，多不牢靠。对他人的看法与其说是揭示他人，不如说揭示的是我们自己。那个叼着香烟的男人，如何看待我这身子挺得过于笔直、瘦脸唇丰、鼻梁挺立、架着一副金丝眼镜的人呢？在我看来，我的鼻梁过长，也太过突出。这外表又如何顺应与违逆那男人的期望，以及他的心灵？他看出我刻意夸张和自负的地方吗？他又略去了哪些，仿佛全然不存在？抽烟的陌生人从我的镜中影像里，必���得到一幅失真的图像。在他心中关于我内心想法的影像，更是堆积在失真之上的失真。因此我们之间更陌生，因为阻隔在我们之间的不只是虚假的表象，还加上彼此心中的错觉。
这种陌生感及距离感惹人厌吗？真的需要一名画家对我们张开双臂，即使是绝望，也徒劳地向我们描绘他人？或是那幅画该用轻松的方式告诉我们：双重障碍的确存在，但那也是一堵防护墙？我们是否要感谢这堵防护墙，帮我们和陌生人保持距离？要感谢我们由此获得的自由？如果没有躯体间双重的保护直接面对面，情况会如何？要是人们之间没有隔阂伪装、相互交融，情况又将如何？

在前些日子的一个阳光明媚的六月上午，晨光静静在巷弄流泻。我刚好站在加勒特大街上的一个橱窗前，因为刺眼的光线让我无法看清橱窗里的商品，却瞥见自己镜中的影像。看到挡在面前的自己，令我很不自在。尤其不管怎么看，整个影像都合乎我看待自己的模样。正当我打算用双手遮阳，好让我瞧进店内，我在橱窗上的影像后面忽然冒出一个高大的男子，他的出现仿佛是个骇人的雷雨乌云，让大地变了色。他站住不动，从衬衫口袋掏出一包烟，拿出一根含在唇间。吐出第一口烟时，他的视线移动了一下，最后停在我身上。我心想着：我们不过是人类，能了解对方什么？为了不与他影像中的眼神相遇，我假装轻松地看着橱窗里的展示品。陌生人从镜中看到一个身材瘦削的男人沐浴在阳光中，头发略白、脸颊细长、神态严肃、圆框眼镜后面有一对黑亮的眼睛。我打量自己镜中的影像，我和平常一样方肩直挺，尽可能让头高高扬起，甚至有点后倾，正如喜欢我的人对我的正确评论：这个狂妄自负的家伙藐视一切、愤世嫉��，只要有机会便不吝惜于戏弄嘲讽。抽烟的男人想必正是这么看我。
这是何种错觉！我有时会想：自己站立行走时夸张地挺直身体，就是为了抗议父亲佝偻弯曲的脊背，抵挡他的痛苦。强直性脊椎炎的折磨，让父亲像个受尽压榨的奴仆垂头望着地面，不敢正视高高在上的主人。或许我可以靠挺直身子，扳正我那已故骄傲父亲的脊背，或是借由时光倒转的神奇魔力，想办法让他不要驼得那么悲惨，让他在现实中少受一些病痛奴役；仿佛借由我现在的努力，可以减轻父亲吃过的苦，让过去失去真实，换以一个美好、解脱的过去。

刚才他听到一对德国夫妇在安排当天的游览行程，他也想为自己安排一趟行程，却没成功。里斯本对他来说并非观光景点或旅游的舞台，而是为了逃避自己的人生前来躲藏的城市。他唯一能想象的，是自己去搭乘太迦河的渡轮，从河上好好看这座城市。
但就连这件事他也提不起劲。他究竟想做什么？
他回到房间，把收集来的书堆叠在一起。两本有关里斯本大地震和黑死病的书，一本是埃萨·德·克罗兹的小说，一本《惶然录》，一本《新约圣经》，还有语言教材。然后他试着把书装进行李箱，搁到门边。不，这也不是他想做的事。并不是为了明天要去拿新的眼镜。现在先到苏黎世，然后在伯恩火车站下车？不可能，他已没有退路。
