A Steelman is that SegWit enabled lightning, which moved some (unknowable amount) of monetary activity off chain. So without SegWit, (or some other way of doing an L2 without new features from a soft fork) some of that activity would have been recorded on chain. Then again, that monetary activity would’ve helped to price out spam (so I’m told) that may have existed irrespective of the help from SegWit and taproot.
But they were still both extremely hasty, onchain activity is dead and Bitcoin is only worth ~0.12% of total global wealth. Even if there was a movement to activate them now, it’d still be too hasty.

Good luck maintaining a right to privacy in Latin America. In many countries, you can't even buy things in shops (sometimes) without ID. I'm not talking about guns, or currency, sometimes it's trivial small items in ordinary stores (emphasis: *sometimes* and of course varies by country).
I might even argue it's worse in LatAm than Europe ... but I think nowadays Europe is overall worse. Both absolutely awful in that regard. At least cash remains very strong in LatAm, which is an enormous plus.

There is a lot of debate about the Flock cameras.
I've been all over the USA and there have been cameras on every intersection for... 15 years?
Yet, crime regularly goes unsolved.
How is it possible for anyone to steal a car, for instance? Yet it happens every day. Why dont they just look at the camera footage, see who it was and where they went?
My point is that surveillance and spying has been going on for decades and yet crime still goes unpunished.
Therefore, the spying and surveillance is not for crime. They market it as crime stopping equipment, but God knows how its actually used.
I am posting this because its an obvious "fool me once" argument, and no one else is making it.

Does rizful have a limit on sending or receiving sats? I tried to zap @nprofile…20wr 10k for a note and it wouldn't go through. His profile is using a primal wallet. I was using NWC on Amethyst. I tried a lower amount, to zap him 1k and it wouldn't go through either.
I then tested and tried to zap 10k & 1k sats to a profile who is using a rizful wallet address @nprofile…6sfs and it didn't work.
I removed my NWC and zapped Joe's note using wallet of satoshi and it went through. No issues.
I looked in rizful's settings and don't see any settings to configure NWC amount of send and receive. All it tells me to do is copy the NWC code. I thought I remember seeing limits or maybe that's the coinos website.

Back in the day, I collected the bitcoins from faucets, they were practically worthless.
And being a means of exchange first, I didn't think to hold onto some, I spent everything I had collected on drugs when it was a few hundred dollars a coin.
I was young, trying to impress my friends, and nothing else it could be spent on at the time.
But my point is, that it was a means of exchange first.
At the time most people thought it would fizzle out due to regulations and probably stay as black market internet currency.
Only schizos that see the future knew it would eventually be adopted by the financial system as a store of value.
