Socrates’ Warning
Socrates warned that democracy had a fatal flaw built into its foundation: it treats every opinion as equal.
The expert & the ignorant get the same vote. An uninformed citizen holding the same power as a statesman is not fairness… it’s a recipe for disaster.
He used a simple, brutal analogy.
If you’re sick, you don’t hold a vote on your treatment. You find a doctor and ask him.
Letting crowds decide complex political questions is just as absurd. Skilled orators replace skilled thinkers, and feelings replace facts.
Democracy rewards performance, not wisdom. He watched talented speakers manipulate entire crowds using fear, ego, and comfort… promising simple answers to complicated problems.
The crowd applauded loudest for whoever made them feel best, not whoever told the truth.
He warned that charismatic frauds would always outperform honest experts in a popularity contest. Incompetent people make bad decisions… & in democracy, they make those decisions for everyone. The system hands power to the loudest voice, not the sharpest mind.
Then came the final irony.
Socrates, who dedicated his life to truth and critical thinking… he was sentenced to death by democratic vote. The same system he criticized proved his point by executing him.
The crowd chose comfort over a man who made them question themselves.
Popularity won.
Truth was defeated.
399 BC, Athens, Greece.
Socrates was tried before a jury of 500 Athenian citizens & convicted on charges of impiety (failing to acknowledge the city’s gods) & corrupting the youth.
The vote was close, roughly 280 to 220, but it was enough.
He was sentenced to death by drinking hemlock.
Socrates had multiple chances to escape or soften the verdict.
He could have proposed exile as an alternative sentence, but instead he argued his work was a service to Athens… which only further antagonized the jury.
He accepted the death sentence on principle, which many see as the ultimate act of intellectual integrity, and others as deliberate provocation.

The usual suspects were behind the COVID-19 plandemic. It's interesting how the new hantavirus one also has their fingerprints all over it too, isn't it?
Look up what "hanta" means in Hebrew slang.

Money multiplication is probably more appropriate than fractional reserve banking. Pretty sure they havnt needed to meet an actual reserve requirement since covid.
You wanna see something funny. Look how long ago we were at 40 trillion and compare it to now.
Which step would you say you were on?
Real discernment means refusing to be manipulated by either side: the official narrative or the counterfeit rebellion.

It's got a couple bugs greenart is working on, but works pretty well so far 👍
I try most new clients, and even have made a few Nostr apps of my own. I always come back to Amy, though I do use my own app for highlights and scheduling notes.
Outbox works pretty well, I haven't seen a 'note not found' in a long time. Usually about ~250 relay connections for my ~500 follows. I would make far more simultaneous connections just to torrent movies and video games two decades ago, on far less capable computers and network connections compared to my current phone 😂

Yeah but even Bitcoin recognizes that sometimes you need more than one party managing a wallet, so we have multisig.
The more I think about it, the more problems I can see which aren’t even network related, like what if the sole community owner gets hit by a bus or becomes an asshole etc.
I understand this model has its pros but I’m not sure I like the cons.
Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Alberta Premiere Danielle Smith are working overtime to fast track the plans to get a pipeline built going to towards BC.
They will allow Canada to sell oil to China and other countries instead of the US.
This is important because Canada has plans to completely decouple from the US and eventually crush all the dirty Americans and starve them to death by cutting them off.
By the way. That is Carney's goals not mine. I like the US.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=1h1uNgAfl1Y
Canada plans on building their military to 500,000 soliders using foreign recruits. Building a pipeline to the west so they can sell oil to other countries and completely cut off the US.
That will allow Canada to get rich and powerful enough that if the Americans get pushy and try to harass Canada. Canada and it's massive foreign military will be ready to fight and kill the American military and all their people.
I don't support this ridiculous goal but this where Canada is heading.
As an American are you scared?
Alberta and Albertans need to be smarter. They need to transfer their CAD into Bitcoin and use Bitcoin. That will in the long run give them more power over Ottawa. At the point they can control Ottawa and all of Canada. Separation won't be necessary.
The current separatist movement isn't a smart solution and nearly impossible if you understand politics and money. Which is something most Albertans don't understand.
A Canadian judge has struck down the petition on the Alberta separatist movement, because she says it violates the rights of Indigenous people living inside Alberta.
The judge is basically saying you need to consult the Indigenous people before even attempting a vote because the natives are their own country inside of Alberta so they own the land already not Alberta.
This is not surprising. You can't simply leave the country. There is basically three groups fighting for power. The native government, the Alberta government and the Canadian government. The Indigenous government get an immense amount of money from the Canada government, so it benefits them to stay and stop Alberta from leaving. The Canadian government also doesn't want Alberta to leave because Alberta has the oil.

The hotdog lobbyists at work again I see 😤
Dunkin Donuts is supposedly coming to Canada. Some Canadians are trying to convince themselves that they will hire Canadians instead of the Temporary Foreign Workers.
Dunkin Donuts will absolutely hire Temporary Foreign Workers. It's a corporation and has to play the corporate game to survive. That means hiring TFWs.
I dont think this chokepoint is a bad thing. In our current design a community is similar to a bitcoin wallet. You own it, nobody can do anything with it unless u specifically authorize, or delegate somebody to. There's no way of changing that without adding lots of complexities

i found a lot of pokemon cards inside a nice binder. I threw them all in the garbage.
The pokemon cards where in mint condition. I bought it years ago at a garage sale. I'm not sure if there was any valuable cards in it because I'm too lazy to check so I got a pair of scissors and cut them all up. If there was a chance of me getting rich of them, I want to make sure no one else will get rich.
video editing made me realize how long, boring and difficult it is, that now, I appreciate all the videos I watch on YouTube.
It's also explains why many eventually quit, because they barley make any money doing it. I wish I could help them out but I don't even have a YouTube account and use ad blockers.

I didn't even know you could pin nots. I've never seen anyone use that feature. I really hate when people pin posts, especially multiple posts.
ok, I admit it, I give up on my podcast. Podcasting is boring. Anything video related is boring. It's too much work video editing and stuff and even with AI which saves alot of time. It's still boring. I rather be doing something more fun like drinking mango juice or playing video game.
I made 1 episode and never made it to the 2nd. thanks to all the podcasters out there who work hard with their podcasts. You work so hard and bring us free entertainment.
yes, the government doesn't care about entrepreneurs. It doesn't want them to succeed to much because money equals power.
