In childhood, my super power was watching other people and studying their behaviors and outcomes. I avoided a ton of trouble that way.
In early adulthood, I would seek out people who had achieved what I wanted to achieve so I could implement years of experience immediately.
I think my super power in this era of my life is aggressive accountability. I'm quite rigid and ruthless about it. I try to be a role model in this way, especially with the younger professionals I encounter in healthcare. I don't let them get away with choosing to have low standards. I'll go to war on doing things correctly because lives are impacted. It's rare, but we've had to weed out dangerous apples before.
I hope all of this leads to me being a wise old man who can guide the next generations. That's how I see my life playing out at least. We need lots of men like that in the world, in my opinion. Especially in the coming years. Things will get wild.

This is an interesting sort of wrap-up, by Tucker Carlson, of the current situation in American "Christian Nationalism". He mentions Sean Hannity being a Catholic actively siding with Trump and against the Pope, defining the disagreement with an Old Testament reference.
Sean Hannity then announced that he has left the Church and doubled-down on how the Old Testament is full of Israel waging war, so Israel waging war is okay and the USA should help them. Or something. And he, again, mocks the Pope for not having read the Bible. 🤷♀

The hungry rantings of Pete Hegseth (the self-proclaimed "Secretary of War", rather than of Defense) are also indicative. His Pulp-Fiction inspired Pentagon prayer service was... inappropriate. Generally, his insistence that the USA is waging a Holy War, to free Israel from dangerous Islam is extremely confused. The Crusades were waged to return the Holy Land (Outremer, and in particular, the Kingdom of Jerusalem) to the administration of the Roman Catholic Church, to ensure safe passage for Christian pilgrims. I am, so far, unaware of the Israeli government agreeing to hand its territory over to Rome, but I don't want to get ahead of the news.
You know, this all reminds me of this Christian woman I knew, back in our homeschool group like 15 years ago, who didn't celebrate any Christian holidays (cuz they are all pagan, apparently), but did celebrate all of the Jewish ones. I found it so disconcerting. We were all getting ready for Easter, but she was preparing for Passover, but she wasn't Jewish. And she had never been to Europe, but she had been to Israel. She always said, Christians are actually just Jews for Christ, they aren't really a new, separate religion.
And now I think about what she said, sometimes. Perhaps it was a harbinger. Perhaps right-wing America was already headed this direction, but I was so caught up in my own personal business, that I didn't notice.

The ultimate freedom technology gives people freedom and respect without them needing to know it.
That's a very difficult standard, but it's better to realize and accept that most people are perfectly happy being abused slaves and won't do much to change. But there are benefits to having more users, even if they don't care. It's a lot harder to stop things that are deeply rooted in society.
I prefer we also have thinkers who focus on shifting culture toward freedom, but freedom by default with good UX is probably the more reliable path.
