In about 10 minutes, just got it on now🙏🏻.
I can understand the “no crying about zaps” appeal. CaravalHOE is also a smug pretentious fag. But we don’t have to get into that 🤭

Some may say Gandalf is showing off here but this is wrong. A wizard always displays the exact quantity of swag. Respec'!
I've been thinking about it myself. If you do, let me know how it goes.

we have it on nostr already. let the X people know.
just need some more apps, clients and extensions. and people archiving. i've been hoping to see a bounty marketplace emerge (maybe using https://catallax.network ) paying people to archive paywalled content. Just takes one archive to make it free for everyone

My main issue with it is the invite code. It’s not permissionless like nostr where you can spin up as many keypairs as you want. Over there you need an invite 🏳️⚧️

we saved a bunch of jugs to try cold stratification this winter. nice to see these coming in so well.
I'm currently watching the boxing. Thanks for the update GSC🙏🏻.
monero has transaction fees too man
but fee market ONLY incentivizes hodling (hoarding) and SOV "usage" over actual value transfer (ie money)

It let's me switch my feed to any of my follow packs to just see those, so I use it to narrow my list. I don't always want to see my entire follows so I'll switch to just my core peeps at times. I'm sure that feature is elsewhere too, but like I said, I'm tired.
I haven't used Amethyst for quite a while. I didn't like the flippant attitude that I'm to be an alpha tester forever. It's disrespectful in my opinion, but no hard feelings. I just don't use it.
I was on Wisp from firstish release until the last one that removed Amber support.
I'm back in @npub1yzv…rf8q because it's pretty simple and doesn't seem to do a lot of breaking changes as a feature. The addition of their follow packs has also given me a pleasurable amount of quick feed options based on who I want to see notes from at the moment.
we have 7 species of milkweed and just got 2 more from poke and staghorn from joyful butterfly. i love seeing the monarchs stop by every year

MLS is well suited for large groups. Marmot uses MLS, but that doesn’t mean it scales in the same way, since some of the protocol’s conventions are shifted. Specifically, MLS requires strong coordination among all group members. This means that things like out-of-order messages, degraded network states, and similar issues break MLS. That’s why MLS deployments typically require a coordinator or delivery service to ensure group messages follow the strict ordering MLS demands.
Marmot, however, uses Nostr relays as both a dissemination layer and storage. Since there’s no delivery service or nothing ensuring that all members receive messages in the same order, all the coordination MLS requires must be handled client-side by each participant. Each participant must reach the same state to maintain group integrity. This means the complexity of keeping everyone on the same page scales with the group size.
For example, a group of two usually works without issues. A group of three requires that each member consistently lands in the same state, which is manageable under good hygiene and network conditions, meaning all relays in a set are online at all times, with no race conditions (e.g., one relay going offline while others don’t, you know classic nostr race conditions). But still three members can work under good conditions. But as you add more people, each new member increases the complexity of keeping everyone synchronized.
Anyway, sorry for the length 😅 I tried to explain myself as clearly as possible.
But in summary, MLS scales well for large groups but requires coordination. Without coordination, these scalability assumptions break down. I reached these conclusions after reading @npub1gzu…a5ds ’s article on private communications over public infrastructure, as well as discussions with him. It was very helpful indeed
I hope this clarifies things! Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions, these are complex technical details :)

I use composer occasionally for daily work. I think it's pretty good for small things. My agentic pattern is heavily weighted on discovery and planning right now. Opus gives me a more complete picture.

It's the fact that you can't easily trade out of it, to fiat, that leads to a circular economy.
