So yes, speed matters. But tensors are a funny stuff, cpu-only execution can yield higher quality output. I was surprised by the fact, a model is dumber when running on a gpu. I felt it myself, I was like WTF is going on?
2.7T model in MoE nvme->ram configuration is rather a PoC, but every month this is improved more and more, limits are pushed more and more, so it's worth taking a look at a such experiment
