Machine Learning, on the other hand, very useful and fills in stuff we can't do for minimal cost. The protein folding Nobel was spectacular and well deserved, it solved a problem that we'd been working on in "human ways" (see a mate of mine in the 90s) at a stroke.
But all LLMs do is fail to solve the problem of sounding human. They get close, but they fail.
