When we finally had a color TV, it didn't have a remote control. As we lived close to the airport, we were forced to jump up to turn up the volume, then jump again when the airplane had landed. Quite sporty! As I see it, there was no harm in jumping, but I'm sure, younger people, who grew up with handling everything by remote control, would be exasperated
