A smart employer would reach out to the odd ball to at least ask why they aren't doing something. Chances are, that person has the sort of insight and mind you're probably looking for. But a lot of companies these days say they want that but act in a contradictory way. I think pay has some role here. It's easier to low ball someone who looks like just another needle in a stack of needled. But if you want real talent, you probably can't hire a generic person. It's weird out there.
